  1. If you’d been more specific in your question I might have been able to condense the answer! ??
  2. Larium Thursday..... ?????????????? We had it listed as a mitigating factor if a disciplinary case occurred....
  3. Yes mate, more than most..... 30 years Service predominantly focussed on realising the potential for the troops and championing fairness and equality of opportunity and that's why, 6 years after leaving, I still have the boys and girls send me messages to say they've just been picked up for promotion and they wanted me to be the first to know before they go public on Facebook etc. It's humbling to think that people remember those that they perceive as having been supportive or made a difference in their lives. To link this thread to the other one that is running about financial aid to ex comrades, there has been a sickening growth in 'so-called' charities which seek to ride the public wave of support (and financial donations) for serving and ex-Service personnel. Whilst some are genuine of conscience and spirit, far too many are milking the rich vein of false valour to cash in on unjustifiable salaries and administrative margins whilst delivering the bear minimum (or in some cases, nothing) to those they purport to represent. This can be seen to be true of some genuine ex-Service staffed 'charities' (and many would be surprised and disappointed to see inside the financial affairs of some of the biggest and well known) and some that have no actual linkage at all but give the 'impression' of being 'of' or affiliated to Service personnel. As with so much in the charity sector, it pays to choose carefully before donating - and that's leaving aside the issue of why these charities actually need to exist at all. Now, as you well know Mr ?, just because you present a short question, there should be no expectation of a short answer - doesn't work like that (and I'm sure Mull will be along with a chirpy input soon enough...) Have I donated to TR's cause in the video - no (but don't read too much into that - I'm tighter than an otter's pocket.) Do I think it's a worthy cause - yes in part, independent legal representation puts the shits right into most organisations but especially the military where rank has such unquestionable influence.
  4. No good fighting it ?! You know it makes sense!! Just give in to the overwhelming logic, life becomes so much easier when yome on the inside pissing out ???
  5. Can’t say I see it as a “bad” thing really. Let the tech do the work. Can’t really see a down side to monitoring road safety and potentially deterring / removing potentially dangerously over loaded vehicles from the highway.
  6. Was listening to a piece on the wireless the other day about new laws to reduce the calories in pies and pizzas etc because of obesity... Why should I have my calories reduced because some lard ass spends all day shovelling junk food down their Gregory whilst needing a JCB to heave them off the sofa 4 times a day for their piss break. I have to have MY calories reduced when I occasionally buy a pie after some particularly strenuous work and I'm stuck between meals because some idle bar steward uses them as a staple. How's that for a diverse and inclusive society - penalise the many for the sins of the few. Flying back from Summer break there was an announcement from the pilot. We won't be dishing out any nuts on this flight, and if you've got any you're not allowed to open them because 1 overly sensitive, selfish bar steward might just up and die if he so much as sees a peanut! And then there's the art gallery that thought it would be a good idea to change the word "women" to "womxn" so as to better represent the minority ethnic and gender fluid portions of that gender. What about the overwhelming majority of women that DON"T subscribe to this pathetic PC nonsense? What about their inclusivity? Maybe it's time to become a disabled, BME, gender fluid, victim of the State so as to be better represented..... What was the question again....? Weight camera for vehicles.... There'll probably need to be an exemption for diverse, minority, transient communities so as not to adversely infringe upon their individual freedoms... Bhah!
  7. Anyone seen Stubby recently? Holiday in France perhaps?? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/10/14/british-cyclist-shot-dead-hunter-french-alps/
  8. Mark, type "ProContract" into your web browser and it 'should' open a page something like the pic below. You have to register and complete a raft of forms then await your account going live if you qualify. ProContract provides the e-commerce portal for large commercial and public sector contract opportunities nationwide. Once registered you refine the regions and industry sectors that you wish to access and bid for. You set the parameters and you are notified when any suitable tendering opportunities arise within your interest set. It is targeted at the larger contracts which might be above the level you are currently aiming for but you'll soon see what its all about and if it might be of any use to you. What is particularly useful is the ability to access and review the type and form of large contract Invitation to Tender documentation and qualifying criteria which will provide the templates to allow you to get all your paperwork and admin in order. Some of the larger contracts have an eye-watering amount of admin associated with them, but once it's done, it's done and minor tweaks are all that is required going forward. Similarly, LA's are starting to establish smaller scale e-commerce portals for local contracts. That could also be a useful starting point.

  11. K’s dwn wid da kidz!

  13. You can't be trying hard enough ?
  14. That’d be a duty trip to the Palace of Westminster of the table then...,
  15. You’re not suggesting (or believing) that there’s a rule that says “no selfies with TR” are you Mark? That would be ludicrous!
  16. Rules are fluid..... It probably would in a post Corbyn Britain, but not yet, thankfully!

  18. I'd certainly be interested in your rationale for that viewpoint. Whilst I can appreciate the reasons for ardent anti-Thatcher sentiment (most notably in those sections of the country which were (and remain) decimated by the closing down of the coal sector) I'd like to think there is something more substantial than the hatred of the individual to substantiate your premise about the Falkland conflict.
  19. And there we have it! Conclusive proof that machines are about to rule the world and I should start settling down in the expectation of my universal income! ???????
  20. You’ve got to love the detail! ??
