  1. Unfortunately not and David's a fairly prolific thread starter (of informative and interesting threads). I'm sure David will remember the thread I'm thinking of.
  2. Me too, taken today ( but I did have a rough weekend)
  3. I was up at 4 this morning and am giving climbing the stairs some serious consideration. Or I may just sleep in the armchair.
  4. I won't ask any more questions until I've re read the other threads. I'm a little envious of the opportunity to be working on something like this over a number of years and seeing how things evolve and improve.
  5. Too far for me or I'd be tempted.
  6. Are any of the species now rare? I ask because I've no real knowledge on fruit trees, but an interest in the history of them! Look forward to following this.
  7. I got that far:thumbup1: It always seemed odd that a LA could accept a notification from an agent then ignore them by not informing them that an order was being served. I think this was changed but can't verify this from home easily.
  8. Prior to the last changes they didn't have to ( and never did in my experience) but I think common sense prevailed and this was changed. I've tried a search on here but haven't got far. Health wise not bad, first day of the fourth cycle almost C free but the fatigues catching up big time now. Hopefully this will be the last one. Thanks for asking:thumbup1:
  9. I forgot to look on my computer at work at the last changes in the T&CPA to verify this question so I either go back to work or wade through a load of stuff on line to find the answer. Or ask on here:biggrin: Does the LA now have to inform the agent if they serve a TPO after receiving a section 211 notice? I've had a look on the Planning Practice Guidance website but can't decide if the agent is considered an 'interested person'.
  10. Didn't realise it was tpo'd? The owner had applied and been refused.
  11. That's my take on it from the photo's The first photo looks ideal for 'clothes-lining' someone
  12. And a quick google search confirms it. It's one of those shrubs I've seen about and never bothered to identify. You've just saved me 20-30 mins of searching. Thank you.
  13. Being a bit lazy this morning cos I've loads of other stuff to be doing. Can anyone id this
  14. The normal or common uses would be in the Arb surveys (BS5837) for planning applications. Although I'm sure there are other uses. I think the lack of responses is more due the openness of your enquiry than anything else.
  15. I think one of the initial problems to address would be the suitability of the media surrounding the pipe work. Typically urban soils are compacted to a degree inhospitable to root growth, but a pipe run is less compacted and roots take advantage. David H. Posted a photo a year or two back of roots in disturbed soil at an outdoor pool which was a classic example )
  16. Not much of an Arb dog really, apart from keeping seats warm he's pretty useless
  17. It'a not that difficult really. The first part of the exam is answerable from the PTI booklet, the survey part is straight forward if you keep an eye on the time and don't stress it too much. If you've a fairly decent tree knowledge and can assess risks, probability, priority of work etc it's straight forward enough. You probably will feel under a lot of exam pressure though (I did) but use all the time you given. Everyone had finished in the classroom well before me, but I used the time to the maximum to proof read, add bits etc. Don't stress it.
  18. I got bored watching him spike up the stem but persevered. Words fail me.
  19. If you get stuck let us know. Our calendars pretty full, but I'd do it myself if needed. Gary
  20. If it wasn't a residential course, would you still ask them to use their holidays?
  21. A couple from todays travels. The top right and bottom pictures are obviously more mature but the results of neglect is still evident.
  22. I couldn't agree more. Dean I'm real sorry to hear about your recent problems. It seems like one thing after another. I don't know what to suggest but keep your chin up.
  23. If this is an ongoing project (over the next few months) I'll definitely find some:sneaky2:
  24. Sorry Sean, I can't help. I know I've taken pictures of the sort of things you want but when I searched through my phone and computer last night it appears that I haven't kept them.
  25. Looking at the colouring makes me wonder why some fungi are so markedly colourful? I mean, have they evolved like this for a reason? That'll give a you something to think about for the rest of the day Chris!
