I've got a 60m length, super smooth and nice. Very soft in the hands, I'm very happy with it but not sure on its durability

Cousins atrax 11.5mm is one of the nicest ropes I've ever had. Nice and soft in the hand but great through devices and ascenders

I've got the arbpro Evo 2's, got them from gustharts. Some of the comfiest boots I've ever worn. Super light and great for climbing

looking at making an adjustable length rope bridge for my treemotion with a kong duck. i know that not all ropes are suitable for bridges. so what ropes are suitable? also if anyone has pics of their adjustable bridge id be keen to see them cheers

Was looking at the Salewa crows. My only concern was that the heel was maybe a touch soft and low for a foot ascender, thought the strap around the heel might dig in

Geez Mick, sorry to hear and see that. i wouldnt be wearing them on the ground on site. the entire idea of the new training office is to increase safety and reduce accidents so if i wore non protective boots for work it wouldnt look too great. I'd be wearing them for teaching and walking the mutts mainly but i get where your concern is from wish you a speedy and good recovery man

recently landed myself some teaching work, so i don't need to be wearing heavy chainsaw boots all day everyday, plus contract climbing it would be nice for those big silky prunes to have some non protective boots to wear, also i'll be doing a fair bit of walking in them and since i've heard from a few folks that the arbpro soles don't last great i think ill stay away from them so i'm looking for suggestions been looking at the lowa cevedales, la sportiva trangos and salewa crows. would love to get some andrew walking boots since i've got the andrew cervino boots at the moment and love them to bits but struggling to find a stockist anywhere (nevermind in little old adelaide) i'd like whatever i get to be resole-able so i can get a few years out of them atleast, and something that i can buy in australia with relative ease what do you guys suggest?

Recently bought myself the tuefelberger drenaline, was going well until it began fraying and accidentally clipped it with my spikes. So i have two questions 1. Anyone tried splicing drenaline? 2. Any recommendations that isn’t “tachyon” or “poison ivy” for a durable 24 strand 11-12mm rope with low stretch (not much to ask for i know). Was looking at Yale Limelite (because it looks sexy) thanks all

I’ve had my drenaline a couple of months now. Good rope for the money. Low stretch, tends beautifully through the spiderjack 2.1, paired with the ropeguide it was my go-to rope. UNTIL ... after about 10 climbs (2-4 hours at very most) i noticed more than a few frays, from what i can only presume would be from ascenders or rough bark. Then one day i slipped while doing a removal and just say clipped my rope with my spike and now I don’t feel safe using the slaiced end. Going to try splice the other end, otherwise it will be retired to just SRT (which it is very nice for i have to admit) won’t be upset if it is just an SRT rope but would have loved for it to be more durable i guess.

Hi all I'm looking at becoming a contract climber in the next couple of months. I'm based in Adelaide and have been for the last 4-5 years and haven't had much chance to travel. I'd like to be able to jet out to different places for a couple of weeks to a month at a time and work for one or more companies. Also will need work in Adelaide if anyone on here needs a contractor. I have CS's 30, 31, 38, 39, 40, 41 and chipper, also have high risk license, white card, rail card and police check. Been climbing about 5-6 years and have worked for a few of the large firms in Adelaide. Been a crew leader and all of them bar one. Have my own full climbing kit, rigging kit and a few saws. Hi all I've been wearing pfanners for the last few years now and I've sworn by them since day 1 of having them but I'm beginning to realise they're probably a bit hot especially in Adelaide's heat The new husky technicals and technical extremes look really good but I can't get a pair to view before forking out the cash. Any opinions on the new husky pants? Are the extremes worth the extra dough? Do they seem durable? Do they have good ventilation or do they look like theyd be hot AF? If not the huskys what about the SIP arborist pants? Thanks. Look forward to your feedback

Decided to buy a pair of type A trousers after swearing I would never but dreading the south Australia summer I've caved in. Just can't decide between the arborists and the ventilations, I have the ventilations in type C but the arborists looking pretty good, has anyone tried them out?

I work in Adelaide, take RC0's advice and get acclimatised because its very dry and very hot in summer, we had a few days where we pushed over the 50°c mark (they never tell you the heat out in the sun, its always a shaded area) but Adelaide is beautiful, I've been here a year and a half and I'm quite happy to spend the rest of my life here. Its arborists paradise, when you get here take a trip to windy point and you'll see what I mean. Just avoid the backpackers on hutt st in the CBD. When you get here give me a shout. Get a tower to lift you half way up, make sure you have a fairly short rope and climb light. Use a silky to clean the spikes off the branches before you grab them and avoid the upper most canopy cos you gonna get scratched like a bitch Sent from my XT925 using Arbtalk mobile app

Get yourself to Australia, its only a few more letters I thought about Austria for a while but Australia seemed like a better prospect with better opportunities and to be fair in my case it does. I've been here a year and a half pretty much straight from college. Been with this company a little over a year and I'm now their youngest crew leader they've had. Just a thought mate. I'm in Adelaide, South Australia mate. I spend last summer here wearing my type C hiflex but now I'm working for a different company, working a fair bit harder so I decided I'd had enough of sweating my nuts off. Cheers for the heads up, the ventilations look pretty good. Much thanks Tam

Here down under summer is definitely coming quickly. After doing a crown reduction this morning my hiflex were drenched in sweat. I need some new pants and some kind of shirt that will keep me cool in the coming summer. Since most of you have just had your summer I thought you may have some good suggestions of the latest kit available. I have to admit I'm fancying the pfanner ventilation 2's but I don't know how hard wearing they'll be. Cheers peeps Tam

11.7mm poison ivy for me with my spiderjack 2.1 velcro I've only had my set up for a few weeks but I love it now I've got used to it. Its the perfect combo in my opinion -
I've got a Motorola RAZR HD in the touch big otter box, dropped it/thrown it around heaps of times and its sweet as. Had logs getting flipped round in the chipper and hit my phone hard as hell and it not only protects the phone but it absorbs a fair bit of impact haha. Whichever phone you get, get an otterbox, definitely worth the money
