  1. I got a 211 from jonses afew weeks ago for around 250 good wee saw but orderd a 201 forestry saw so might be selling the 211

  6. hi I'm using a shorter 10mil silver streak split tail got from Joneses not a lot of pulling before it starts to advance and it works very well with the distel on a Yale xtc plus rope self tends very well

  10. have you tryed oregon waipoua they are high hipped and very stretchy seam a bit tight at first and after washing but soon go a bit baggy

  12. sorry guys should have noted these were prices i was getting payed and paying 10-15 years ago when cutters were cutters and new how to do a good shift
  13. as a day rate supplying all own equipment transport and oil fuel ect £100 if as some guys only work on pice work calculate on that or whote its costing you per day to complete a days work and whote you need to get a wage the last time i did any thinnings it was about for first £9-£13 per m3/ ton second thinnings £7-£8 clearfell £5-£7 depending on the size of the produce a bit vague but you have got to give it a go to get a realistic produce amount to base your price on
  14. just got myself a pair of haix protector pro for mainly Forrest work and a wee bit of climbing very comfy my old stihl boots lasted 12 years on and off in the winter or realy wet bits just used oregon cutting wellies
  15. yes still recognizable had it for 10+ years was origanal spec the started to tinker have had a few other toys but sadly had to cut back

  23. hence the reason i stick with forestry you go to work do the job until asked to stop it pays the mortgage people dont want to pay for work in there gardens and not get something to show for it sods law
  24. asulox works a treat if applied correctly you need a large area for the chopper to be cost effective and good weather in forestry we can also use an ulva battery operated drift sprayer and apply neat chemical good for smaller patches under trees or napsack sprayer dont leave it too late in the year or you will get a patchy result the green way to go is whip it early on in the year for a few years( only good on small patches) and time consuming
