  1. Looking to find out the costs of putting someone "on the books" as opposed to continuing paying them as Self Employed contractors. So just wondering about the following; As a rough percentage how much more does it cost employers? what "other" costs have people found come into it? Cheers David
  2. Just to clarify it is in sutton South London, not up north! Cheers
  3. Due to a big increase in work and a few more felling jobs coming up I am looking for someone who is a competent feller in woodland enviroment and if possible has done a bit of arb grounding as well (Not essential). We are based 5 miles north of Gatwick Airport but work covers from South London to as far East as Hastings and pretty much everywhere in between. Ideally you will be self employed, all required tickets, ability to use <10T 360's would be an advantage. If you are interested then please email me your CV and covering letter to: [email protected]
  4. Morning All, I have about 35 Cube or more of arb arisings for sale from a yard near sutton. Looking for £18 per cube. Its a mixture of everything, some is green, some has been sitting in rings for the last 12+months (Ill let you take make up your own mind if this is dry enough to split and use now) There is access for a 4x4 or 3.5T van and big trailer but not alot larger. If anyone wants to know more then let me know. Cheers
  5. Tracked chipper for the smaller stuff, quad with a logging arch for the bigger bits? How big is the access track, is there big time constraints on the job, if not wait till summer so you can get around the site easier without making a mess.
  6. The Quad is a TGB Landmaster, only had it at work for a little while but first impressions seem very good. From memory it is meant to take about 250kg in the back, but I have had a fair amount more before and it seemed fine.
  7. Just finished this extended box for the tipper on the back of our new quad. It takes the capacity up to 1 cube so we can use it for log deliverys and fitting a few more tools in when taking it to jobs. Also its a bit of a prototype for a transit that I will be doing in a couple of weeks. It is a 20mm box section frame that comes apart for storage with ply sides and a hinged mesh back and all in I think it cost about £60 to build.
  8. Hi was that on the A264 today between the garden centre and the volvo garage? looks a bit familliar
  9. Cheers Chris, I will give him a try tomorrow as I have a site vist there anyway.
  10. Hi all, Has a guy go into A&E this afternoon due to getting some sawdust in his eyes, We tried washing it with eyewash with no luck - they washed it out and said he is fine to work tomorrow. As this occurred whilst he was at work should it be reported to HSE under RIDDOR regs? Obviously I would rather not have to report it if not required Cheers
  11. Hi Finch, Drop me a PM, would be happy to have a chat and work something out with you. Cheers David:thumbup:
  12. I may have about 3 hectares of larch clearfell coming up in feb next year, looking for harvester operators that would be interrested and an idea of costs per ton. I will take care of the forwarding so it is just cutting required Cheers
  13. Cheers for the replies guys. I may have a look at the seals on the tensioniong ram. I do try and avoid stumps and turning on the spot etc. I replaced one track a few months back as it had snapped and bought a good one, it seems to be the other that is coming off so I may replace that too and see what happens.
  14. Had my little Hanix for about 6 months now and everything seems fine apart from the tracks, it seems to just keep slipping a track off when using it in the woods. Any ideas what I should be checking/replacing as its starting to get a little more than annoying now! Alternativly is it possible to convert it to metal tracks and if so any ideas of cost? Cheers guys

  21. Evening All, Been offered a MF 2680 by a friend of a friend for 6k, its done about 5000 hrs and is a 2000 model. I would be looking at putting our 6t fransgard on the back, moving trailers of logs and possibly a bit of forwarding work in the woods.
