  1. Want to sell your Zk-2
  2. That there is funny no matter who you are:) In all seriousness I am glad Aquato is smart enough to take the advice of hiring a climber. Here in the states where I am located there are many pines 20-30m. Very few branches until the top 5m or so. This takes the proper training and the right equipment like others have said here. Post a vid when hire your climber.
  3. No longer own it but it was my Stihl 036 Pro.
  4. Anybody here believe that global warming is playing a role in all this extreme weather around the globe? Sorry not trying hi-jack this thread just thought it might be relevant. Thanks, Mark
  5. I really liked the look of the Hitch Hiker when it first came out and still do. I have the Zk-1 RW but would like to try the HH and the new Zk-2. When I first saw the Zig Zag video I was very impressed. After thinking about it a bit seems like to many components in one device that has potential for problems. But damn! Sure is a sexy piece of kit. I hope you guys that are getting your rope thrashed get it sorted out with Petzl.
  6. Hello, Maybe you should have your ZZ checked. Just guessing but may if the mechanical prusik isn't machined just right. Also I don't own one just read this threads allot. I heard 11mm rope is a good starter for the ZZ? My two cents anyhow.
  7. Rained today and nice dry cooler air set in low tonight in 40 f Tomorrow high 65 f then more rain likely next few days. Outside enjoying as I type. Summers have sucked here in Southern U. S. I can't imagine how hot is in Australia during peak of summer: dizzy!

    Fake Saws

I would bet their loop hole is REP possibly meaning replicate or replacement? As far as buying out a van that's something I never do because I know it's either rubbish or stolen. I wouldn't sleep well knowing I got a great deal on some hard working guys chainsaw.
  9. I was just browsing through this thread and I could visualize these events. I know it's from last year but priceless. Thank you for helping me LMAO! Has been a long week needed a good laugh.
  10. I am sorry to hear that! This is without a doubt a tough way to make a living. Can you afford to have someone climb for you?
  11. By the way SRT access-only systems have been in use ever since I first started climbing but being proficient in their use will do little for understanding the potential that the new WP tools are capable of. Just started with SRT a little over a year ago. Now when I hear or think SRT I automatically envision my RW or a HH. The fundamental difference is not the reduction of friction, though that is nice, but the fact that one uses a static rope system and one uses a dynamic rope system. I am not talking here about whether the rope is stretchy or not but that in DdRT the rope is a moving part of the system and must remain so to accomplish in-tree movement. This requirement limits the ability to alter or control forces placed on redirects. Because the rope must move freely the sum and direction of the load will be calculated as in a rope/pulley change of direction. Very well spoken made me think twice. With a static rope system you have more choices. For instance, when working on the outside edges off a wide canopy tree, small limbs that would ordinarily not be used because they would ofter little to no support, due to pulley dynamics, can be joined by the static rope and made quite strong, similar to an elaborate cabling system. A redirect point can even be made fully static by taking a byte of your line and taking a turn or two around the redirect point ( you don't even need to go over a crotch ) and clipping it back onto itself. I really like this redirect by using a byte and going around the redirect point. I would like to see a video of this. There are many large Live Oaks here in the deep South of the U.S. with canopy spread 3 times as wide as the height so this would be beneficial for myself to become more proficient in these scenarios. Thanks for your post, Mark
  12. Anybody ever use a wrench with figure 8?
  13. Yes, I agree with Old Mill. Don't forget the LOW and slow.
  14. SRT has opened new doors and opportunities to access trees that couldn't have been accessed any other way before except using spikes. Also with the lack of added friction has helped my production time along with less frustration and more energy at the end of the day. I love knowing I am on the cutting edge of tree climbing. I feel it gives me an advantage over my competition! I use both Ddrt and Srt for climbing. Cheers!
  15. Yes it is covered. Check out a few pages back. Really good reviews!
  16. You choke your line around the stem with a running bowline as mentioned above and a alpine butterfly works well too. Also leave a bit of tail so after you make your cut you can loosen your flip or unclip it and rappel down to where you want your next cut to be. Once your there just give your tail a tug to loosen and it will slide down to you then cinch it back up and your ready for your next cut. Thumb Up!
  17. I can add some ideas as well: 7. It would also be great for a heavy duty wind chime anchor. 8. Ultimate janitor key chain organizer. 9. Decorative top for your cain for retired Arborist. 10.Put them on your rims especially if they were gold! Bling! 11. Throw at me because I am a nerd: blushing
  18. I am gonna try that Ian. thanks for the responses! I have the Zk-1. I recently put some heat shrink over my Petzl tether. Haven't tried yet but played with it in the garage seems to work quite well. When I get the funds Zk-2 will be mine
  19. Thanks for the response Ewan. Do you prefer RW to bungee to hand ascender over neck elastic? Is the neck elastic stretch some?
  20. Has anyone ever tried this? I think that would be a great idea.
  21. Good footage! I like the transitions between video clips.
  22. Lol! I know advertising always seems to show ideal scenarios for the product to be sold! Don't get me wrong though I still think it is a good start along with many other innovations. Only time will tell. as far as the hitch cord extinct? No even if just used as a back up. It's here to stay for many years. IMO!
  23. I really think the Snake Anchor is genius! It gives you the best of both worlds. The lines most of us are using today are not forgiving being static or very low stretch. The Snake Anchor is designed to absorb some shock in case of a fall possibly saving your life on a long limb walk or if your slack is not tended properly. I honestly had drawn up a similar idea before this came out. Was shocked when I saw t on the front paige of Sherril Tree catalogue! Although my design was not as good or forgiving as it!
  24. I have lost my hitch climber a couple of times though! blushing as well! Lol! I think the HC should have an extra attachment to one side of it for a small carabiner that you attach to your bridge or d-ring while changing your set up or TIP. IMO
