1. Hey Dan nice work! My name is Mark. I tend to lurk here abit and a occasionally post. I have minimal experience with Srt but like to learn and occasionally try it out That seems to be very effective yet simple. Apparently the small biner is just for holding the ring in position and doesn't share the load at all? Thanks for posting!
2. Just found this one.
3. Agreed
4. Tsurgi original straight or new slight curved?
5. You beat me too it. That's one reason I couldn't have that job unless I was allowed to come down like that
6. Thanks for your response Dan. I like your set up
7. Hey Dan' Is this attached to a basal tie as well? or independent? Thanks, Mark
8. Cool!
9. I really enjoy putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Just yesterday I was on a proposal and was able to figure why these 7 year old Chinese/Drake Elms were leaning over not growing straight. By asking him about the history of the trees, watering, construction, and other details. These trees were staked/guyed for 3 years. Two years ago he removed the stakes and they began leaning. My conclusion was the trees became dependent on the stakes by not allowing growth of the necessary roots to hold the trees up. Also the lack of structural pruning is much needed. Landed a new customer, learned something, and I am now able to help resolve the issue
10. I like this thread. Thanks for posting. Mr David you are doing great work taking all the time and effort to learn and help evolve proper tree care!

12. It is an excellent friction hitch. I hope to try the Cooper Hitch in near future.
13. Here is video links to the Sooper Cooper knot if anyone is interested.
14. My new tether I threw together with 8mm sterling prussik, Flexible clear tubing, and outer layer of some old rigging line. My not look pretty but seems to tend very nicely and grab consistently. Hope to get a play with it next week on a removal.
15. My condolences to you! That is a traumatic thing to see something like you did. Try to take it easy and try to forgive yourself for not being perfect. Nobody on this planet is! That is the beautiful thing about pets is how they can always forgive. I believe your friend is in a good place having the time of his life and remembering the good times he had with you. May God guide you in a path to peace.
16. Yes, it seems very smooth so far. My next one I am going to try to make a little less bulky. Maybe try to make it as shiny as Tony's Thanks for the positive feedback Gerbutt!
17. This is one I tried with a tenex prussik but was too short. Here is the flexible tubing I used Then used the outer sheath over some old rigging line I had on hand. Last I just used about a 1/4 of a roll of electrical tape on each end. It is not much for looks but I need to play with it in the tree. played with it on pull up bar and seems to tend very well and grab consistently.
18. I really do use most of mine. There is times where I don't need it yet but know I will in the future so I buy sooner. Lack of sticking to budget. My climbing and rigging gear alone is around $2000 US dollars roughly. I am just starting to tackle bigger takedowns and not just prunings as I did before.
19. I just made one. Mine I used 8mm sterling prussik that I stitched to go around the Zk-1 bolt. Then I took a piece of flexible tubing 5/8" in place of the spring. Over that a stretched and old piece of rigging line cover over the tubing. Will post pics tonight:)
20. Hello My name is Mark and I am gear addict. It has been 4 whole days since my last purchase. New 25" bar and chain for upcoming job and some saw maintenance supplies. Don't buy depending on a job unless you have extra funds in case that job falls through. I know this well; blushing! If your asking this question perhaps a business plan and budget is needed. God knows I need to work on mine. Good luck my friend!
21. Post some pics and let us know how you like it Merle. Mark
22. Chalk line winder for the grapnel
