Iam in the process of sourcing rim sprockets for the dolmar chainsaws under 3kw of power most of them come with consumer spur sprockets The 420 falls in this category most of them come in 3/8 lo pro drive the problem is if you want a 1/4 you gotta buy another sprocket for carving So iam working on a rim sprocket clutch drum , i should have an answer in the next week

  4. I got a large roof that has to clad with cedar shingles 16" I was wondering if anyone has bought any recently and knew of a good supplier or maybe one of you good people made them As the last lot I purchased approx 8yrs ago from a big retailer the quality wasn't brilliant

    Thanks Wes that's interesting so Eddy it looks like the dolmar is 2 ounces of baccy heavier than the stihl

    Yes you're right you drill out the 9mm holes in the cover and put the bolts in those other set of holes and the new cover plate fits in that new position And you change back too D033 mounts when needed Or you can turn down the D009 stud flanges too 9mm and put them in the same holes and use the existing bar plate and you don't have to drill the side cover I can get the D009 side covers but they take approx 2-3 weeks to arrive Thanks

    Yes that is the 50cc saw that revs the highest I haven't got a Ms 241 too compare it too. All I can say is the 242 is longer and narrower than the dolmar

    the highest RPM on any of them now is only 13800 maybe its a good thing

    hello eddy the top end is 13500 rpm and its a proffesional engine design not a clamshell the high engine psi was revealed too me by two top blokes in the saw world, i tried to test the PSI today but this saw is fitted with a small thread cm plug and i havent got an adaptor that goes that small but once i get an adaptor i will test it :thumbup:

    ive just had a weigh in both saws where full of fuel and oil 1 x husqvarna 242xp with 15'' husky bar and chain .325 .050 1 x dolmar ps-420sc with 15'' dolly bar and chain .325 .050

    That's interesting so if one had trouble getting a cylinder and piston for the 42 would a 242 cylinder and piston fit There was an older post where wickamulla has said about different Pistons for the 242 It feels and looks the same saw
