  1. Oh, Rich, I expect Spud has covered it in his PM, but one thought is to check the inlet boot. Even though it may be intact, they tend to harden and don't always seal on the engine flange again if they have been disturbed.
  2. Would those wise words be "DONT LISTEN TO GARDENKIT"??
  3. Rich, has the saw with vertigo still got he 200 carb, or has it been changed to the 020 one? I had exactly the same problem with one of gibbon's 200t,s a few years back, it was fine on the ground but rubbish up the tree. The 020 carb cured it.
  4. I think I gave the thread too boring a name, not as many comments as I thought on something so hilarious.
  5. NO, it should be there, or fuel can puddle in the inlet and cause surges when the saw is tipped. It was just a thought.
  6. Tis true, was my daughters boyfriend who shared it. He was a bit scared to, cant see why, I think its hilarious:lol:
  7. Have you got the foam pad below the carb throat on that 200 thats scared of heights, Rich?
  8. I'll be keen to know how you get on with that KM Steve.
  9. Hi cyder drinkers. I was looking forward to this, but now won't be coming, but hope you all have a great time. On the plus side, I have cancelled the room at the Faulkland Inn, so it might still be available if anyone needs it.

I can honestly say I have never been seasick on any boat, or the lifeboat. (and I have been on Trents and Severns). Maybe I have just been lucky.
  14. TBH, Ray saws get sent by carrier every day. Most new ones arrive with me by carrier with no problem, and are usually in boxes with pictures of saws all over them, but these are new so dont have petrol or oil. So I guess its petrol and oil that are the issue. As you, and others have said, Parcel to go prohibit chainsaws, but Parcels To Go are only an organiser, they do not run vans, but offer the services of the major companies, two of which are City Link and TNT who deliver many of the new saws. The prohibit lists on these companies do not mention saws, so they are unlikely to grumble back to PTG. I have sent saws by carrier several times with no problem. The courrier will have no reason to check, or complain, if there is no leakage of fluid. Just to save hastle, do not describe the item as a chainsaw, just 'spare parts', pack it dry and with the bar off and it will be OK. Ok, they may not cover the value if lost, but in this case we are talking cheap machines, are we really bothered? And if they want us to travel to the other end of the country to collect a machine, then would we bother? I for one, would happily take the risk and pack with sense.
  15. I cannot really recommend one. I bought a 5 litre can when I got my US cleaner. Its labelled all in a foreign language and I cant find the same one on the net. Its probably no better than others but I still have plenty left. Do a google search, but make sure you get a non caustic one which is safe for aluminium, there are others for steel, rust etc.
  16. There is proper detergent available for US cleaners, which you mix with water. This reduces the surface tension of the water enabling the US cavitation process to work closer to the object, as well as softening deposits. It is important to have one that is safe for aluminium. I personally would not use white spirit due to the fire risk it poses. especially when heated, as these devices tend to run unattended.
  17. Thanks for sharing that Ray, I wonder if a chainsaw in parts is still a chainsaw, or is it a box of bits? After all, if there is no fuel or oil, and it does not run, its hardly a chainsaw. Maybe I will call them and try to clarify.
  18. A ggogle search shows no UK distributor Steve. Maybe you could take the franchise and add it to the Arbtalk merchandise range.

Yes, respect Rich, even though you have a boat with a lid:thumbup: Inshore Rules!!
  20. Yes, saw it , but no, nothing else, as I cleared the decks last week.
  21. No, sorry. As I said before, I cleared out all the scrap last week before i thought of this, so starting with a clean sheet.
  22. They will if you describe them as Saw spare parts.
  23. East Devon, Near Sidmouth
  24. Sorry, did not realise it had been tried before, was not trying to copy:blushing:
