  1. I found with my truck that it wont do a self re gen if there is less than a quarter of a tank of fuel and if its due for a service . The injector that squirts fuel into the DPF to burn it out is disabled if there is not more than a quarter of a tank of fuel .
  2. Blue skys in every direction this morning with a nice breeze .
  3. I have been monitoring a row of 15 ash trees near me , on the river bank . There were , over the last 3 years some of them ( probably 3 or 4 ) that showed obvious signs of Chalara . The trees either side showed no problems . This year however the few that looked infected now look to be healthy and in full leaf . There is the odd dead stick but nothing like previously . Do you think these trees are " shrugging " it off and recovering ? It certainly looks that way .
  4. You make it look so romantic ! 🙂We all know it can be snot gobbeling
  5. Your not working hard enough 😄
  6. I do remember all that grief Ty
  7. Could it be just a simple blocked fuel tank breather ?
  8. And finally , finally , you may have to replant/replace .
  9. They don't like it up 'em captain Mainwaring
  10. Well yes , at 67cc it would be ...🙂
  11. What was the thought behind dropping the compression Andrew ?
  12. I thought the 560 and the 562 were the same capacity engine wise . The 562 has a larger crankshaft end and the outer bucking dawgs mountings are further apart to accommodate the 3/8ths drive but power wise I thought they were the same ?
  13. I considered red oak for a second but circular scallops ( for want of the correct term ) are much more pronounced in a red oak . Maybe Quercus Pagoda ( Cheery Oak ) ?
  14. Yes you are pretty much right . Most saws seem to come as standard with a 7 pin . All my saws are ported so , dependent on bar lenght they can run a 9,8 or standard 7 pin . For example my ported 560 with a 18" bar will pull really well with an 8 pin . my ported 372 has a 24" bar and I find it better on a 7 pin . For any given bar lenght the faster the chain speed ( 8 or 9 pin )the less torque you have . There is a sweet spot and you will find it when you cut wood . Another thing to consider is a standard chain loop will accommodate an 8 pin over a standard 7 pin but will need another driver link in it fi you go above that .
  15. Yes . I was going to offer an Oak of some description .
  16. Yes , I just watched that . WTF indeed .
  17. Bit like the saw with the bar between the legs one . That has got its long service medal !
  18. We are all gutted for you ( not that that helps ) and only mean to sympathize with your situation . You are one of many . I am sure any one who is a member on here would keep a watchful eye and be on the lookout for your chipper . Really sorry to hear about it .
  19. Its been a total shit show from the off .
  20. I have been following the war in Ukraine daily since it started . And what is happening now has been building for some months . Prigozhin and his Vargner mercenary army have suffered heavy losses in their attempt to take the ruin that is Bahkmot ( spelling ) and " hand " it over to regular Russian forces only to see it being taken back by Ukraine . He has been super critical of Putins generals without actually criticizing Putin directly . After accusing the Russian artillery of shelling his men and mining their withdrawal it is not surprising that he is now marching on to Moscow . I think Putins days are numbered and Russia will end up divided into many smaller states , each ruled over by assorted " gangsters . Just my take . Ah , just seen this has all been covered in the other recent thread specifically about the war . Ignore this old duffer !
  21. 22 carat , gold embossed , ivory inlaid , leather bound , black enameled , jumped up , stuffed up , never come down , weapons grade bollox . 🙂
