  1. Looks a bit Caucasian Wingnut , possibly .....
  2. Wrap some tape around the cut end back from the damage and heat the end with a lighter to seal it . I am not a climber so others will shoot me down if this is wrong but I have done this with ropes in the past . . Its your life so don't take my advice without other opinions .
