  1. I use the auto shut off one for the mix but the ordinary pour one for the chain oil . As you say they stay on the can .
  2. You can actually run an 8 pin ( slightly bigger dia than a 7 pin ) with standard drive link count so yep it would be like a limp prick with one extra driver 😊
  3. Why not go the whole hog and get a mankini Khriss 😁
  4. Ok . Its a shame Jensen Parts/servicing is harder to come by now . I think they are a good " mid level " chipper , tried and tested . Not without their niggles , crud getting stuck under the right hand roller spigot is the annoying one but can be sorted on site by shoving a big ugly lump in and hitting the stop bar mid way . This holds the rollers up and you can quickly clear it with a flat blade screw driver . Keeping the blades sharp and rollers sharp avoids this though .
  5. I think its not so much the chunks it can pull in but how it handles fluffy brash , especiallt connie .
  6. I think its because Red Wood stopped Stocking them . We used to get " South African " Charles out to service it as he did work for Red Wood then went on his own . Think he has gone home now .
  7. Once someone has fired some chip through them they are all second hand . We had a 540 from new some 12 or so years ago . Had the rollers sharpened a few times , a new solenoid and a new battery lead . Its still going now chipping as good as ever .
  8. The method I use is to tighten nuts finger tight , hold saw by back handle and drop bar tip on a log then adjust with the bar tip still taking all the weight and tighten . Always worked for old me . 😊
  9. You would be better off with a second hand Jensen A540 .
  10. They need a revamp of their QC . Or maybe they don't have any at all ?
  11. I think he means the little Stihl " one shot " bottles of 2t oil . You snap the cap off and pour it in , does exactly 5ltrs . Expansive way of doing it but convenient .
  12. See I had 1 of those from way back . It never let me down and the nozzles shut off every time . It fell off my truck and broke the nozzle . I bought a new nozzel but it would never shut off . Had 3 or 4 more of those cans over the years and the nozzels always fcuked up . Also they fall over easily with a small foot print and bulginging high center of gravity . Went for the new Husky can as it had a better footprint and is more stable . I think the nozzels work fine but I only use Alkylate fuel . I think they don't like pump fuel .
  13. Well as I see it you are already out of pocket with all the down time . If you agreed to another new machine and you had the same issues all over again you would be suicidal !
  14. If you are set on trying another get a contract written up that if it goes wrong , anything , you get your dosh back quick smart .
  15. Happanuyer all you people .
  16. Before you go spending money check out your bar first . See if the rails are coming apart . See if you can borrow a known good bar .
  17. Unless the bar delaminates as mine did .
