  1. The I.O.W. has reds , dunno if they have greys as well @SamanthaSunny ?
  2. Divide the engine cc by 3 will give you max bar lenght in inches .
  3. I know it wont happen but just suppose you could eradicate every last man jack of them would that not allow the reds back in ?
  4. Don't forget there is a right way up and a wrong way . You need the little ledges sloping down on the inside so the soot doesn't get trapped .
  5. Yea but can you make a jam rolly polly ? 🙂
  6. That's like asking for Grandmas secret recipes 😄.....
  7. Except they don't say brash , they say branches . 🙂
  8. Also a bottle of the Irish Red Breast is on order from Masters Of Malt . 👍
  9. Would you say Andrew that the earlier clutch design is a stronger unit ?
  10. Yea , its weird I know but there is always more when its on the ground than when its stood up 🙂
  11. OK . The 18 year old Highland Park Viking Pride arrived today . Having the first sip now . Very pleasant I must admit . A lighter ( colored ) whisky than the Aberlour . I'm no expert as I have said before but my initial reaction would be to say its less complex in all the hidden flavors than the Aberlour in as much as there is less going on in my mouth and around my tongue but that is not nessaserily in a bad way . Less " burn/warmth " down my breast bone if you know what I mean but very pleasant all the same . Perhaps its a little smokey ? and subtle . The Aberlour is more complex I feel making you concentrate on it whilst the Highland Park is more casual and easy to enjoy with out having to concentrate on it . Does any of that make sense ?
  12. Shaun that's fine mate . All interesting , you won't go to prison . 🙂
  13. Give Spud a PM . He is in darkest Hertfordshire .
  14. Ask Egger . I don't know to be honest . @eggsarascal
  15. I think someone else did this recently . I can't help as I only have petrol saws but I am leaning toward a battery one soon .
  16. I new a bloke who had a boat with a dummy tank that held a small amount of " white " ( for if he got dipped ) and out of site the main tank for cherry .
  17. In his second post . Right at the end . I work on the rule of thumb thing ...divide engine size by 3 will give max bar lenght .
  18. If you want to run an 18" bar ideally you need a 50cc/60cc saw . With the woodland work you describe I would get the best pro saw you can afford . You will only be upgrading at a later date so do it now ! Husqvarna 562XP would be my choice .
  19. Roots need to breath . Adding 2foot above a root area is not good for the tree .
  20. I have been running ported 50cc and 60cc saws with 8 pin sprockets for years ( 15" and 18" respectively ) and have never encountered this problem . I don't use veg oil though . I do/did flip the bar every now and then and change the powermate rim maybe every third chain . . This is not to the stricter " rules " that Rob D posted but I don't ignore basic maintenance . As has been said before by me and others start with a blank canvass . New bar , new chain , new rim and use non veg oil , ( on one saw ) just as an experiment to eliminate things . Run this setup alongside what you have been doing and see what the differences/results are .
  21. I think pic #2 is a Dunnock ?
