  1. Thanks for the advice.... I did think about spraying insulation foam (which I believe is much the same as expanding foam) on the underside of the tin, I have heard good reports.... I assume some of the guns spray in a fan effect?? After I priced it, it seemed that sarking/membrane was a cheaper (and perhaps better) solution? Yes... The offer from Guss109 was a kind one. Again thanks for the advice
  2. On the subject of condensation problems with steel roofs.... I was wondering if any of you guys have tackle this? I'm thinking of removing the steel roofing, board over the purlins with sarking board then use a moisture membrane of some sort before putting the steel roofing back on. I am assuming this would eliminate any condensation on the underside of the tin? But, if it didn't the sarking would not be affected as it would be protected by the membrane? I'm interested to know how you have dealt with this? Thanks in advance
  3. And after we finished the dry stone wall around it
  4. Hi.... Yeah no problem.... Here it is
  5. Hi Craig... Thanks for that. I'll get the picture to you assuming the rain stays off for a moment??
  6. Thanks guys..... Grateful for all the advice
  7. I have a building with a tin roof, whoever built it didn't put the foam eaves filler along each side of the ridge. Just wondered if anyone had used expanding foam post build? Did it do the job Thanks in advance
  8. Where can you get the Stihl workshop manuals from? Thanks in advance

  10. Can anyone tell me anything about this lump on one of my silver birch trees please??
  11. The knife is or general use but mostly gutting rabbits.... The spike is a despatch tool. I fly a female Harris hawk, she's a great pheasant and rabbit bird, she will mostly kill a pheasant instantly, but a big rabbit well that may take her a little time to kill, here I prefer to intervien and despatch the rabbit to avoid any suffering. Here's a picture of my Harris called Alys
  12. Thank you Silky... I'm delighted with them, John (Mr Jes Knifes) really is super at what he does!!
  13. We had a very stormy night here in Aberdeenshire.... Quite mild at 2 deg but very windy with driving hail and sleet all night.... Overall horrible!!
  14. Well this is what I bought for myself this christmas.... I like to do some falconry in my spare time so splashed out on this Falconry set. Hand made for me by Jes Knifes... pictures really don't do it justice but it's the best I could muster. The oak handles and leather sheath are just stunning in real life
  15. Yes.... She does look sexy and I agree much sexier than the Kubota that I have now shifted Not going for a loader.... but I have bought a tipping shovel for the 3 point linkage. We have Takeuchi TB016 now so the need for a loader is less.
  16. Well after much research I have decided to set the ball rolling and buy one.... Order placed with Kilworth Machinery. A big thank you to Mark Parnham for all the advice and patience shown in answering all my questions during the process. It will be delivered to my door with a full hand over within a month. Kilworth Machinery = excellent customer service I've attached a pic showing the 650 model that I have ordered.
  17. I wanted to buy an Avant... I was referred to a dealer in Scotland and despite me having to call him and leaving 2 messages for him to call me.... still nothing!! Very poor customer service always puts me off It may well be a very good bit of kit but with this kind of service I won't be investing in one!!
  18. Thanks.... I like that idea; hadn't considered it!!
  19. Thanks for that Paul... do you know where I can buy one?? Did a search in google and it all seems to be household systems?? I assume people that keep horses etc must have similar issues??
  20. I know it's not really arb related but I'm sure a lot of you have a few chickens or ducks pottering about. Arborculture for me is more of a hobby, sadly I have a day job and before I leave for the 1 hour drive to the office each day, I have to defrost all the drinking water for my chickens, ducks and geese. I have no power close to where I keep them but I'm wondering.... how hard could it be to produce a wee gadget that is solar powered that would just be enough to stop the water freezing? I remember caravan shops used to sell a small element that would drop into a mug and plug into the 12v cig socket to boil water?? Just wondering what you guys do... have you found any solutions? Heres a pic of the girls in summer
