  1. Thanks everyone
  2. Thanks.... I like that idea; hadn't considered it!!
  3. Thanks for that Paul... do you know where I can buy one?? Did a search in google and it all seems to be household systems?? I assume people that keep horses etc must have similar issues??
  4. I know it's not really arb related but I'm sure a lot of you have a few chickens or ducks pottering about. Arborculture for me is more of a hobby, sadly I have a day job and before I leave for the 1 hour drive to the office each day, I have to defrost all the drinking water for my chickens, ducks and geese. I have no power close to where I keep them but I'm wondering.... how hard could it be to produce a wee gadget that is solar powered that would just be enough to stop the water freezing? I remember caravan shops used to sell a small element that would drop into a mug and plug into the 12v cig socket to boil water?? Just wondering what you guys do... have you found any solutions? Heres a pic of the girls in summer
  5. Cheers mate.... grateful for the info
  6. Thanks.... did you find turning with the rigid version OK or did it need a very wide area??
  7. Thanks mate.... Really appreciate that... Have you found it reliable? Easy to maintain? Have you found the articulated steering a big benefit? Reason I ask is that a few people have suggested that the articulated steering versions of most alpines are not as strong?? Thanks again
  8. And it doesn't happen like that very often.... in my world water levels would have dropped exposing an extra 30 ton of waste!!
  9. Just wondered if anyone is using one of these tractors? Any opinions on reliability, ability, ease of maintenance etc? Thanks in advance
  10. Well after a lot of research decided to sell her for £12500 + VAT. We put up a proper advert with new pics as soon as I can
  11. Truss company is Stevenson & Kelly (Grampian) Limited 01358 743399
  12. I ordered the trusses.... Used a company at the Bridge of Don.
  13. Here's the falconry shed
  14. Going for a combination of forest green tin and clear.... I wanted it to match a falconry building (to some degree at least) and my Agri shed.... You can just see it in these pics
  15. I expect the total cost of materials will end up being about 2 - 2.5k but that will include gutters and sub base for the floor.... I'll split it up once invoices come in. Could have reduced this by mixing concrete for the posts instead of using postcrete
  16. Progress so far.... the weather has held things up a little but it's moving in the right direction at least.... these dark nights don't help!! Most of the trusses are up, tin roof ordered and the larch cladding started
  17. Very nice !!
  18. Thanks guys.... good to hear your thoughts! Rover.... interesting to see you cherry pick what you feel is the better saw for the job within each brand.
  19. .... to ask this question Just out of interest... do you find that you are a husky or stihl person because you prefer the brand and would never use anything else or do you find that you say... use a stihl saw in one size because it's great and a husky saw in another size because it's great??
  20. Thanks for that!!
  21. At least if the treework doesn't work out you have 'stand up comic' in reserve!!!!
  22. Really.... are they that sort after?? Cheers
  23. Guys... been thinking about selling my 1 year old (52 hours) Kubota B3030 tractor complete with Kubota LA403 loader.... can anyone give me an indication of what I should put it up for price wise please? I have attached a pic of when she was delivered.. cutting deck is NOT included in any proposed sale. I am VAT registered so it would be £... + VAT Thanks in advance
  24. Yeah that field does have good drainage but I do intend to scrape it and lay some sub base 1
