  1. Don't give anyone any money until you've got the machine in your possession. I know a gullible lad who has had his fingers burned by these scammers.
  2. Yes they are two very different chemicals for different jobs, I have had very good results with Kurtail from progreen. It is made for the job. Grazon is not up to the job of killing Horse tail imho. I am sure there is some videos on youtube giving information about it. (Kurtail)
  3. Im making some enquiries at the moment, are you thinking of it also?
  4. Horse tail and Mares tail are easily confused in name but not by plant, they are different. I think one of them is an aquatic plant, but not sure which one
  5. Generally very good, we have two at work and I've used a few different models. They are well made, easy to work on but usually quite heavy.
  6. Don't wear gloves, cant beat being able to rip the wife's tights off just by brushing an open hand over her knee.
  7. Back into the soil .....in time, after all your plants have gone yellow because of Nitrogen deficiency
  8. Just wondered who has got it and how it has helped progress your career as a result. I know its quite costly and it wont be easy. Ultimately I want to move into Consultancy and it looks to be my next step. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and give it a go. Any advice ?
  9. You're probably right. A layer of fresh mulch maybe better than none at all? M
  10. Well rotted mulch leaks nutrients into the soil, fresh mulch can suck Nitrogen from the soil as it rots.
  11. I Don't know if there is a product that will selectively kill mares tail, its a tough plant to kill. I use Kurtail that does the trick.
  12. Seems logical but think ill keep that one to myself, as I would probably be the one having to do it
  13. Don't suppose you have a Porsche 911 I could borrow.......do you?
  14. I have been asked what I can do/suggest to do about repeated infestations of Ermine moths on Prunus padus on a small housing estate. I admit that the webs they spin are unsightly and repeated attacks are probably not going to do the trees much good but after having a brief read up on the caterpillars I suggested that nothing be done and wait until the moths leave naturally. As pesticides would probably do more harm than good. Now tenants are coming back saying that the moths are coming in through the windows, I think this maybe an excuse to try and get the trees removed? Does anyone have any similar experiences? Is there anything worth while doing to alleviate this issue? M
  15. Good post Kevin
  16. More like a U turn
  17. When the capstan breaks in half, the log comes flying down and goes through the garage roof and the groundie runs about screaming because of serious rope burns to his hands, you need to cut em a bit smaller
  18. Yes that's right. I just sit in the garage all week end in the dark, recharging my batteries ready for work on Monday.
  19. This is true, depending on who prunes it to whether it would look weird. Cutting the tops off trees is generally not a good thing but trees can be effectively reduced by people who know what they are doing.
  20. In a word NO, this is where your experience and common sense comes in.
  21. The quotation should cover a description of the work you are going to do and the total price for that work.
  22. The brake band is broken- the silver band that goes around the clutch drum. yes you are lazy
  23. I like your answers Dave.
