1. Hi J, Have you considered a Dodge Ram 1500? If fuel economy is an issue get one with a gas conversion. It isnt your normal pick up as iv had one as well as a Disco 4.They beat the disco hands down for comfort and a lot more. They also hold more , tow more and not an issue for Tax. Regards Scott
  2. Thinking about milling again.Anyone know what the best mill is ? Budget 8k

There are 280 hrs on the mill. I am selling as im in the process of moving to British Columbia. I am located in East Lothian , just south of Edinburgh. I would be looking for £20000 plus Vat for it. If you want to discuss anything else drop me a reply and I will give you a buzz tomorrow.

  8. I'd go for a hilux 1st, Isuzu 2nd and a navara 3rd .imo .
  9. Botex will lift 2940kg in close. Scott
  10. If its the type shown in scotspine1 pics then go for it . Iv got exactly the same and its about 8yo and virtually nothing has went wrong with it. If its a Bateson transporter with the smaller dumpy wheels stay clear of it. Iv had 2 and the chassis twisted on both because of clipping kerbs with they wheels where as the bigger skinnier ones seem to be able to handle it. Hope this helps Scott

    L200 advice

I had an L200 on a 02 plate sold it 3 years later with 88000 on the clock. It never missed a beat .If its a dealer ask him to take 10% off when he comes back with a figure meet him halfway. He will have bought it on trade for £5500. Hope this helps Scott
  12. Does anyone know if there are any dealers in the uk for Timberking mobile sawmills and how much the timberking 1600 hydraulic mill is? Scott
  13. Hi Eddie , I have a valtra T series with a 560 roof mounted crane. Loads of power and great handling. I would go for a T series rather than a N. This is the second valtra Iv had from wilsons and I told him the hours and spec I wanted for the tractor and he came back quickly with 2 machines that he had found. I bought a brand new botex 8t trailer to go with it and I can't speak highly enough about the job it does. Regards Scott
  14. Hi folks, What are the top 5 hardwoods to mill in the uk? Regards Scott
  15.

Hi there,

I was looking through som older posts and came across your views on a Hudson 236, are they a worthily investment? Your advise on the machine would be greatly appreciated .

Cheers

  16. Thanks Big J, Ideally a good second hand lt40 wood suit in both worlds!! But they dont come round to often. When u selling yours lol . Cheers Scott
  17. Did they come up from down south and service it for you ? It def had the hydraulic package as I asked him to remove the log loader but asked if it still had the clamps and roller. Disappointing to hear there back up service isn't great!! Typical I had almost made my decision . Bit of a minefield trying to get the right machine .its never going to be our main focus of work but something I'd like to start and use for the decent timber we come across. I'm sure there are loads of tree surgeons in the same boat. I was looking at a Hudson 236 to start with due to there price , but no hydraulics means a lot of man handling . Cheers Scott
  18. Is there a uk dealer for the LM2 ? Wouldn't it be tricky to get parts ? Only asking as I was on the phone to woodmizer today and the total price is roughly the same as an LT20 with standard hydraulics. Is the LM2 a great machine? Cheers Scott
  19. Thanks for the input Big J . Is there a massive difference with production with a hydraulic machine or is there more to it than that. Cheers Scott
  20. Great work!! Fantastic benches!! Scott
  21. Yeah it's there own design , had no feedback so I'm a bit wary . Thanks Scott
  22. Jas p wilsons in Dalbeatie will do a 350 brand new for that with the feeder, was down in October and watched it go , great piece of kit if your serious about firewood.also the hydraulic holding log arm is excellent for twisted poor shape logs Cheers scott
  23. Hi folks, Anyone got any info on the Hudson Oscar range.Iv narrowed it down to a wm lt15,Oscar 230 & Oscar 236 unless there is anything else worth a mention? Cheers Scott.
  24. Does anyone have any feedback on a LMS 820 mobile sawmill?i think M Large produce and sell them. If not which mill would you advice getting as a 1st purchase? Thanks Scott
