  1. Which college? Dont be nervous. I went back into education at 32 on the same course. To tell you the truth I was scared!! Advice- LISTEN to everything they tell you. Make notes. Read them again afterwards. Ask questions. And believe in yourself 100%. Have fun, make friends because they could be you contacts in the near future. But remember, there will be smart arses in your class who think they know the lot. Take them with a pinch of salt. Use all the resources the college has to offer. And last but not least, use these guys on arbtalk. They are a wealth of information. In a couple of years time some guys or gals will be asking YOU for advice. All the very best in your studies.
  2. Thanks Easy! Got my beady eye on an MSc too, but have to raise some money first. Only another year kind of part time, and im still in the learning mood!
  3. Thanks Steve. Its nice to come back!
  4. 3 years went by pretty quick! Finished my degree course with a very pleasing 2:1 grading. Thanks for all the kind words early on. Hard slog but I enjoyed every minute. ......and straight back to looking at trees!! haha
  5. If anyone is interested this is my Facebook page covering the whole challenge. People are more than welcome to run with me. I sometimes have to run alone and at silly times of the day due to time constraints but sometimes i'll advertise on the page a time and a route which encourages people to come along. They are never fast, but will always be 13.1 miles or more, and sometimes end up quite far off the beaten track! Based in bishop Auckland so they are mainly in and around that area, especially Hamsterley Forest which is fantastic for running through. https://www.facebook.com/pages/52-in-52/184184031766118
  6. After my last post of being a smart arse and saying I hadnt been broken, guess what? I broke slightly. Had major tendon pain behind me knee so rested up for a fortnight. Finally felt good enough last week for a trial 2 miler, and yesterday managed my 19th half marathon of the year with no pain from it at all. That'll teach me to keep the gob shut!
  7. I try and run on a weekend and then I have a short run on Tuesday and Thursday. I hobble for a day. Walking up and down stairs seems to be the worst!
  8. Thanks Woodworks. I'll be out in the morning to do another one.
