  1. I actually thought it was quite good - a bit risque, but bound to get a rise out of you. Im in the south too - and also with a tree job to finish 50mph winds today, maybe will be delayed. It doesn't matter if you jack it in or not. Matty is right lots do jack in. But either way you will have had a go at something that can be great fun. Don't get blown into next doors garden and damage any more of next doors chairs Mr Honey Climber https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tevdukwqupg
  2. very good - the tree equivalent would perhaps be a liquid ambar in autumn. PM scent
  3. how big a tree? - I can't see how you'd get all the crown in without getting in the back to mash it up with a saw, or is that a given? any vids?
  4. Glad to hear a positive comment on it. Beranek had all Stihl in his working climber DVDs, wonder if they sponsored him or hid choice. He had I think a 260 to climb with, vids shot before Mtronic. I bet that 362 is good to dismantle with
  5. Im a novice too, even after having my gear for years, as still on hedges and mowing too. Today I thought Id pull my line out when it got dark and leave a throwline in the tree till tomorrow, fork too tight so now throwline and rope stuck. But i did practise tip tying large spindly tops, works a treat if there is a nearby stem to crane them out from. Probably chucking it down tomorrow. At least youre not reducing beech in the rain
  6. just clocked this 362 on US ebay - they seem to think a narrow kerf chain makes the saw cut 40% faster - selling it marked up in price as a hotsaw , but no engine mods? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PILTZ-Stihl-MS362-Customised-CHAINSAW-24-inch-Cannon-/362476084794?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10
  7. Acacia, probably dealbata lets see the photo once you've topped the living life out of it
  8. I had to look up Palookaville - Sid (William Forsythe), Russell (Vincent Gallo) and Jerry (Adam Trese) are three friends in New Jersey who are struggling for money. After deciding that crime is the answer to their problems, they plan a jewelry store theft -- only to mistakenly break into a bakery next door. The three men go straight, believing they are not suited to crime. As their financial woes continue, however, they eventually agree on what they feel is a flawless scheme to rob an armored car.
  9. exactly
  10. it was only going one way
  11. My ZZ just stays on the rope - if its small trees it doesn't move far from the spliced eye.
  12. A pulley for the doubled rope instead of a fork or cambium saver. Like Mick says a good triple ladder will have you up to maybe 25ft easy, not that little pensioners one on your trailer
  13. the foot ascenders are sold right or left, i have right and if dabbling with srt the haas knee ascender goes on the left. I know full well that the best prussik climbers could show me up, but I like pampering myself. Try a pulley and tape sling on a wrist thickness top anchor. Obviously it wont retrieve like a pulleysaver/ropeguide, but you can try frictionless climbing.
  14. He's never said anything useful to me for treework, but I still love him as a fellow human being. There's no need to call for him to be rounded up in a dog warden van, taken somewhere remote and but rammed with a live eel. There's always the ignore user setting
  15. 200 quid would cure it. Zig zag and CT foot ascender.
  16. if you like the technical stuff sex can be about so much more than just genitalia - I could pay someone to make my helmet into a pretend clit and hope I could spread for a looker like Brad Pitt, but it would be impossible to remove every X chromosome from my body Edit - every Y
  17. It would need O licence 6 week checks, unsure tacho
  18. A Unimog must be as close to perfection as exists for tree work in rural areas
  19. Yes Sprinters can rust - my Iveco was bad too, tried to sort it but really needs engine out and treat the lot. Dailys 3.0 litre will tow 3.5ton, can be 3.5 or some upto 6.5 if you dont mind the paperwork
  20. BigJ on here has a nice 4wd Sprinter, it could carry a 6inch tracked machine inside and tow a tipping trailer for logs/chip. I use Iveco tipper, good for 3.5ton tow, great traction on dry tarmac
  21. I've seen plenty of robur cut like that die off - maybe rubra is more up for it. Red or dead
  22. I kind of feel the same - but if you're doing a fun job that doesn't pay enough it can make time off work less enjoyable if you can't afford to buy a nice home with plenty of outdoor space
  23. Thanks for reply - I should have enrolled on Mark Bolams' course CS69: Avoiding gender assumptions in the workplace
