    my old man was a machine operator for a while and later prison officer, they were buying nice houses in their mid to late twenties on average incomes, you didnt need planning because there were affordable older houses with big gardens. Unlike today where building plots are .25 acre and the finished build with postage stamp lawn is half a million. So many relying on bank of mum and dad, because immigrants pushed up housing costs. House price to income in seventies and eighties probably averaged four times, its about 8 now

    so the 1951 refugee act means we now have an acceptance rate of 98% for Sudanese and Syrians, 87% for Eritreans. No matter how many come, they have a legal right and we have to let them stay. I believe this illegal migration issue is so serious there should be motion of no confidence. Callaghan 1979 and McDonald 1924 both lost. Not likely to happen with Labour's thumping majority.     a tripod ladder isn't essential - same as it isn't essential to change from using a family car to provide a hedge cutting service. A 12ft tripod goes inside the roof of a LWB Transit, or strapped on any pick up/ tipper. But a dedicated vehicle is a serious investment. Especially if you can't have an older one due to LEZ.

    because the original aim was subsidence mitigation - imagine 10 years regrowth that thing would be sucking up water like there's no tomorrow My suggestion is buy 5l of glyphosate 360g/l pry, scrape off ivy all around trunk at 1.5m high drill 10mm holes at 45 degs downwards, 60mm deep, 30mm apart in a complete circle around trunk, use a 100ml syringe with plastic tube to fill the holes nearly to top with 50% solution diltuted with preferably rain water, but hard tap water would work May be cheaper than ecoplugs - and either method will work best in growing season, right now probably still ok, or April. You need to take care with mixing and applying strong glyphosate

    Israel are the baddies here, they were forcing Palestinians out of land in the West Bank long before Hamas attacked. Netanyahu is behaving the same as Putin. Just like the small boats people are invading the UK, Israel is invading Palestine.

    I have the foam filled (high voltage) Jameson utility poles with a hook (branch lifter) on, using 2 x 6ft poles I anchor as high above as possible, walk out until I start struggling, then use the 12ft length of pole with hook over some side growth at least an inch or so and pull myself out and up the limb with the pole as a kind of bannister, then when Im close enough choke the lanyard, or lanyard halfway and repeat, been out on a horrible 45 ash limb to clear a summerhouse using the pole to pull myself up and miles (literally) out from stem Both hands on the poles, hand over hand

    I don't see the point of us doing what Finland do - Russia isn't on our border. It's almost certain that the UK will be absorbed by a larger state, either before or after nuclear war, probably within the next 2000 years. We are wasting 5% of GDP just to delay the inevitable.

    the Honda information sheet I linked to doesn't say about reseting the gaps when warm, it just says If adjustment is necessary, proceed as follows: a. Hold the rocker arm pivot and loosen the rocker arm pivot lock nut. b. Turn the rocker arm pivot to obtain the specified clearance. c. Retighten the rocker arm pivot lock nut while holding the rocker arm pivot. TORQUE: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7 lbt·ft) d. Recheck valve clearance after tightening the rocker arm pivot lock nut. Not sure if this reseting on a warm engine is the right thing to do? Anyway, at least it's running.

    I didn't realize some (of Epstein's alleged) were as young as 12, I've heard the saying 'if it's thatched move in', but 12 is pushing it. I thought they were like 16, 17 year old girls who Maxwell was recruiting? And also that the whole thing was openly transactional, as one of the 'victims' said Maxwell asked her 'do you know any girls who are kind of slutty?'

    I'm no fan of Trump's, but I dont think his association with Epstein is all that bad, not in comparison to supplying Israel with enough armaments to be unstoppable by all the Arab peoples. Child sex trafficking - they werent pre-pubescent kids. No worse than Berlusconi shagging Ruby the heart stealer.

    trouble with pedestrian 'walk behind' grinders the engine is getting further from level the deeper you grind. Ebay sometimes has some Raycos and Carltons 'new engine fitted' A 350cc two stroke liquid cooled grinder using a Yamaha RD350 lump

    you are suggesting Reform will cause everyone to suffer more than the greens, liberals, labour, cons I wouldnt blame Farage for collapse if he could finally repel - remember it would be a 'collapse' down from a very high level.     If Farage got in and said 'right another £500 per year tax on all people with income, workers, pensioners the lot - use this extra money to stop the invasion, Navy style'. I would happily learn to love my collapsing standard of living, just to get rid of these invaders. The small boats can't penetrate a wall of grey steel armed with radar. All Navy vessels to the channel and all leave cancelled until further notice
