  1. Hi guys having a touble with the static/bottom roller. It will chip away great when cold then as it warms up the bottom roller with stop. If you push the bar to reverse the roller it will start again then start again, then stop etc eventually when you offer a piece upto the rollers they will stop like there is no hydraulic pressure. I've checked oil and it's clean and enoughof it. Belts are good and tight. Adjusting the relief valve speeds up and slows down the rollers. I'm thinking it's gonna either be spool valve adjustment or in need of cleaning. Have i missed anything that you guys can think of?? Cheers Gareth
  2. Give up now you will never make any money out of logs
  3. I'll deliver to Preston i'm near Garstang. Mixed hard/softwood seasoned .72 dumpy £60 free delivery for an arbtalker lol
  4. Now i like that Eddie!! Tree clear near preston have a 7.5t with flail head and they put a donkey engine on the back ballast to power the flail head. What kinda diameter will it tackle?
  5. I think this is absolutley top knotch!! I left Dumfries and Galloway nearly 5 years ago because there was very little oportunity to do something for myself in this industry. I have since relocated to North Lancashire and have gone down the Arb path rather than stick with forestry/woodland management. I think a scheme like this in some areas of the North West would be amazing as there there are soooooo many unmanaged woodlands around Lancashire and Cumbria, alot of them broadleaf too. I could just do with about 200Ha to manage

  7. The micro chipper crew is trying to hijack!! Go back to your own thread singing the praises of your damned infernal minature machines of burden
  8. Had a go with a SJ and art positioner this week and i have to say it made climbing so much easier. I will be buying one!!
  9. Right I got the part number for the gear and guess what its no longer in production and nobody has it in stock!! Options are price up having gear made likely to be around £500 or buy a second hand box from Vos and split it keeping my fingers crossed it has a usable gear in it. Its actually gone because its not been used!! The bottom two gears have been sat in oil but not the top one so over the years its got pitted. So use it or lose it guys
  10. If you have a full uk car license you can tow anything you want behind a tractor. As long as it's roadworthy and has the correct brake setup for weight carried. But you can have as many axles as you want pal.
  11. Yeah they are near me so i phoned them today and they said £750+VAT to which i pointed out thats the same price as a brand new box from merc. To which they said "we cant compete with that" To which i said thanks bye bbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrr................................................ They are having a giggle they want £200 for a steering wheel!!!????? It's a burn out dog!!
  12. Well the joys of mog ownership have started hahaha Whilst enjoying chipping brash at a much increased rate of knotts to usual we noticed abit of smoke coming from the pto banana box. We shut it down and since have split the box to have alook. the top gear of the box is worn. Now Vos managed to find a part number but they no longer make them Soooooo i don't suppose anyone has an old box knocking about or even one thats been split but still has a good gear in it? Failing that i'm going to have to get all Heath Robinson and make some brackets up to move the pto to the centre of the rear cross member. Only problem then is i'll have to put some feet on the chipper so as to keep the pto shaft straight. Ohh and grow about a foot Any help welcome.
  13. This how my yard log pile feels like at the Mo!!!
  14. Thought i'd ring vos to confirm before trying again and they confirmed that it needs to be running at 2450-2500rpm to get 1000rpm out the shaft!! Think i'll have to buy shares in shell haha
  15. Right people chipbox is on and will be boarded out with glassenite wagon body today. I also bought a tp760 chipper and brought it home yesterday. I put it on the mog and was a bit stumped really. At first i put it in 540rpm and the feed rollers where hardly moving so we sacked that off and put it in 1000rpm. We ran the mog at 1500rpm and it chipped and didn't lose rpm much but it didn't feel right so we upped it to 2000rpm and tried again still ok but not great. So we tried again at 2250rpm and it sounded better and tried it on a 5" bit of willow which it chipped fine but the it was only blowing the chips about 8-10ft. the chips where nice and square/clean cut so the blades are sharp and setup correct but i got the feeling that it was performing like it was in 540 not 1000. I did a bit of reading up on the web and i found that the om352 engined mogs need to be running at 2500rpm to achieve 1000rpm on the pto!!?? Is this right as it feels like the mog is screaming? What do you guy's run your u900/u1100's at to make them chip right.
  16. I've just fallen out with a main contractor that i subby for because i'm sick of getting phone calls after 8pm to work the next day!! And when i say no i have plans, i need more notice he say's i'm the one taking the p1-ss!!? He was told to go away in jerky movments!!!!
  17. Done deal for the tp760 in the Classifieds Bargain at that price me thinks. 760's are 9" arn't they. Run it in 1000 at about 1200-1500rpm should be ok.
  18. Not anymore there aint lol TP SOLD!!!!:001_tt2: Cheers Stevie i missed that one!!
  19. Looking for a cheap and cheerfull PTO chipper to get me on my way. Not too bothered what it looks like or if it's in need of tlc aslong as it has some life left in it. Was interested in that 9" kwikchip on ebay but if it was any further away it'd be in france
  20. No the one on your single cab navara is the best!! It must be five foot off the deck of the pickup. It must hold the same as a mog lol
  21. Arrrhhhhh yes Rob king of the comedy chipbox:lol:
  22. Very good point!! Much rather it got people thinking about having work done than having an emergency where people might be hurt. I've noticed our council tree team buzzing about with brand new quad chip and daf 45/150 with grab.
