  1. Hi guys the New year is looking quiet so far! Any work in North West England or South West Scotland would be welcome. I have cs30,31,38 and 39, own saws, ppe, truck and trailer small chipper etc . I have a good work ethic and a strong back and can be left to get on with the job. If anyone does need a hand could you PM me or give me a bell on 07702788870. Many thanks Gareth
  2. When you look at it like that its a lot of money for a limited machine!! Bet they don't sell many!!!
  3. It's booked in for a full belts filters and fluids service after new year. My family have run mitsi's for years and we found you either get a good en or a bad en!! We got shut of a shogun that had done nearly 200k of hard graft and never missed a beat but also we have a warrior that did 42k and cracked the head. I have never had dealings with Navara's and was warned off by my mate who's had 2. Hilux's command way too much money for what they are and some don't have rear diff locks so are utterly useless even of a wet field. Ford ranger/b2500's look like a sturdy bus to me and i know people who have them and swear by them but i thought i'd stick to the devil i know. The mitsi engines have plenty of grunt at least.
  4. Right i think ive done it.
  5. Hi guys here's some pics at the mo. Edit: there wont be any pics because i havn't a clue how to put pics up and to be quite frank it's burning my head out.
  6. Ive seen all the youtube vids, I wanna see it chipping 4" peices of wood!! I like the look of the JB machines especially the M500 but although self propelled it's never going to compare to a tracked machine and it costs 10k. Kilworth is a uk agent for the Negri line and say they can provide any model on request.
  7. Arbtrak 150 (smallest GM tracked) Weight - under 1100kg Width - 1.2m TW150vtr Weight - 1080kg width - 700mm -1100mm Negri 225 tracked Weight - 435kg Width - 930mm The main thing here is the weight and its less than half the weight of either and still under 33" wide. Also it is a chipper even though called a shredder. It's a drum chipper (chuck&duck old school) With 8 shredder hammers reducing the chip on the inside of the drum. So it's the same as a GM cs100 or a JB m400 but with shredder hammers as well. From what i can tell drum chipper self feed but suffer badly with the engines bogging down when chipping things near to their max capacity. Feed roller+anti stress would cure this surly.
  8. My mate has a large setup near to me and bought a tracked TW150 secondhand and he has spent that much time and money on it he could work for Timberwolf themself. To be fair 75% of the time it used as a road tow only in the back of a ifor williams tipper and there is no chance of getting it through Mrs Miggings's side gate or running arcross her lawn even when she does want the chip as mulche for the borders. Commercial arb and utillity arb is completly different kettle of fish to domestic arb even if it does seem like playing at it to the bigger boy's.
  9. It not about capacity its about being able to manouver a chipper around a domestic garden without leaving it looking like a battle field. 90% of my work is domestic I don't want a big out fit with big gear and big overheads. I'm a bit bigger than a one man band but smaller than your average arb company and I do well out of firewood in the winter. It's enough for me to live comfortably. So buying a chipper that's the top of its game in that size bracket is more where I'm at. I could buy a fasttrac and a bandit x90 for less than 10k but then I'd be chipping good firewood lol. The other thing I like about these Negri choppers is it produces fine chips and I'm looking into getting a 10mm pellet mill which mean the chips wouldn't need to go through a hammer mill first.
  10. I stand corrected.
  11. Whats the build quality like on them?? Their sounding like a good option so long they can be had for the right money. Abbey have the road tow version up for £7300 but thats the billy basic model with the 13hp honda. The "EVO" version with the 15hp honda, bigger hopper and anti stress will no doubt be a good deal more and the self propelled will most likely be silly money. I don't think they will be the type of thing to come up used very often either. But yeah TW and GreenMech take note!!!
  12. That Subaru robin engine is one cool kiddy!! Overhead cam and fuel injection!!! On a pull start static engine!! The power and torque curves are impressive it delivers more power lower down and there ment to be good on juice aswell as quiet running!
  13. Shteks wee green brother might just lose his crown of king of the wee chippers lol If you look at the 240 the model up they do a tracked version wich has a lot bigger hopper and feed roller which stress controland it stick weighs in under 500kg and is a meter wide. But the question is are these machines still classed as a micro chipper?
  14. Having said that they all come with honda engine options which are arguably the best static petrol engines you can get!! The thing about honda engines is when they go you know you will get a new one no problem. I could walk out my front door and find a dealer that will either replace or supply service parts within 5 miles. Finding a agent for Kohler parts isn't so easy at all. My friend had to travel 200 miles for a replacment 25hp command engine for his stump grinder!!
  15. That can't be good for such an expensive piece of kit!!!
  16. Wow now that's not cheap!! The tracked version must be around the 10k mark. Which would put it on par with a jb M500. Feed roller wont sap too much power i wouldn't of thought but stress control we make all the difference. I have a 10/20 bearcat chipper shredder and that has 36 hammers and is powered by a 20hp kohler command. We put brash through the shredder upto 1.5" and it dosn't even labour. It's the chipper part that lets it down with it being a disk rather than drum. Blades need to be kept brand new to get the self feed effect. I'm going to be selling it after xmas in favour of a drum type wee chipper. Would like a 2nd hand M400 jb but may consider a GTM 1300 with the view to replacing the engine for something like a 20hp command in the future. Also the GTM1300 looks like it would mount onto a tracked barrow quite easily. Home built micro tracked chipper anyone.
  17. I'm officially in love!!! Does this still count as a wee/micro chipper?? It's brilliant. I once saw a timberwolf 18/100g mounted on a tracked barrow and thought what a good idea and now i've found a factory built one. Anyone have any experience with this brand at all. Negri, il marchio verde - Biotrituratori - R225 - R225BHHP13C
  18. Roadless county big money to rebuild!! Not for work though classic tractor for some old boy to rebuild and take to shows.
  19. To be fair smiley parts are getting a bit thin on the ground and are fetching a premium. The L200 is a 96 model and has the 2.5TD from the early import swb pajaro's mechanical injector pump No ecu's to mess up!!
  20. Yeah the tranny had just completed it's 20th year of faithfull service (not with me lol) But it had done several lunar missions haha. It was just nackered beyond servicible repair. I know i can't fit the same capacity in it but to be fair i'm not a big company and most of my work is domestic. I have a ifor 105 tipper with cage sides if i need to move more chip/logs. I just want to look more profesional and not like a (TRAVELER to be pc.) Also we are moving yards and the new one isn't going to be a surfaced yard like the last but the corner of a field and im not being funny the tranny could get stuck on a dog turd. The other thing i like about the l200 is the grunt!! I towed the trailer from old yard to new one yesterday and it was effortless, the tranny knew it was on the back even when it was empty and if it was loaded it was 30mph flat out!! No chance of ever going on a motorway with the tranny even empty. Get it upto 60mph then as soon as you get a slight incline it was down to 45/50mph getting overtaken by artics etc Not ideal.
  21. Well I've got her back in one piece!!! Well chuffed it drives spot on. Had a look at the alloy tipper bed and the it looks like the bed will be very high much higher than the original tub!! Worried about being top heavy. Does anyone else run a L200 tipper?? What hight is the bed from the floor. I might have a go at a home built protipper. If it works i'll go into competition lol amtipper!! the tipper that jack built hahaha
  22. Yeah cheers bud iv seen that vid and im mighty impressed with it!!!
  23. I was trawling through the search results earlier. Wee chipper thread etc I was woundering if any M500 owner have any videos of the machine working. I've been through youtube and can only find promo vid other than that nothing.
  24. I have finally got to admit that the old girl is beyond economical repair. This van has been like triggers brush lol the only original part is the steering wheel. In a bid to keep operations small along with overheads im opting for a single cab L200. The alloy tipper body from the tranny is being recycled and cut down a foot in length and a foot in width. Planning on welding up a box section frame with tool locker and ply boarding sides and roof and covering with sign written foam-ex. Some roof bars for the ladders and the jobs a good en. The L200 isn't by any means a spring chicken but very straight. Iv lined my friendcanic up to carry out a full belts filters and oil service for piece of mind. The road trip starts first thing in the morning to collect the pickup so i'll let you know how i get on. Hopefully no ehad gasket failures or blown turbo's on the way home:thumbup:
