  1. Love the "Sawing" action of the chainsaw, a real good way to rick kickback when using the top of the bar! What a nugget!
  2. It should be in high demand after the rate I have been going through timber for fencing recently! lol!
  3. Looks like a Chippit to me, late model before they got called the "Truckloader". I have the same machine, works well for a gravity fed one. I might be wrong but after looking at mine it appears to be basically the same as the current Timberwolf 18/100g, so I assume spares shouldnt be a prob! Aslong as the engine runs ok, the flywheel bearings are ok (you can grease the ones on mine!) then there aint much else to go wrong!
  4. Thanks mate. Most of mine is domestic work!
  5. Cheers mate. I have been doing alot of "Hit and Miss" style since the storms!
  6. Round here (cornwall) you are lucky to get £80 a day as a groundie with ariel rescue. By rights all groundies should have ariel rescue anyway so its not really a unique selling point!
  7. Hiya, I have had a fair amount of fencing jobs recently, prob due to the winds! I was just curious how you guys go about pricing your jobs? At the mo I have been working out the price of materals (havnt been adding much on top, as the discount has cost me nothing and makes me more competitive and less likely to lose work) and then adding a day rate. I dont however tell the customer how many days it will take or my day rate, it seems to cut down on clock watching! How do you do yours? What kinda day rate do you work at?
  8. Looks like a handy bit of kit! I was thinking of using a Farm Jack but maybe hydraulics would be easier to use!
  9. Hiya, I have been thinking of making a device that pulls fenceposts out of the ground, something simmilar to what they seem to use in America. Does anyone use such a thing or made their own? Would like to be able to pull post and concrete ideally!
  10. I set mine up for free, I think you can pay for a snazzy one if you like that kinda thing!
  11. I posted the pics in a local "for sale" group page that allows business to advertise. Like they say, a pic is worth a thousand words!
  12. No worries mate, I will let you know my hourly rate..... lol!
  13. Luckily it not my shed, its my parents garage! Was a bit tidier when I started! lol!
  14. Was an 18hp M18, twin cylinder. Looked at the chonda 20hp twin that was £500, it uses the same size shaft as the Kholer so would have saved changing the pulley but I didnt have £500 to spend! The 16hp was bout £280ish all in!
  15. Forgot to say, I had to remove the heat guard off of the exhaust as it was in the way of the belt adjuster. Didnt need to have it as it got hot anyway! lol!
  16. Hiya, As requested by "White Noise" pics and details of the Launtop "Chonda" engine conversion in my Entec chippit! The original Kholer engine threw a rod out of the crankcase due to the main bearings being knackered so after much pondering I decided to go for a new replacement engine from these guys - Westbank Wholesale I went for the 16hp electric start, the original Kholer was 18hp but seeing as it was knackered im sure it wasnt putting anywhere near 18hp out. I have now finnished the conversion and it was quite staight forward, the only issue I had was that the "Taperlock" type pulley on the Kholer engine was 1/18" and the new chonda was only a 1" shaft. I got a new pulley and 1 inch "Taperlock Bearing" from Bearings, Ball & SKF Bearings, Safety Boots, Castors, Wedge & V Belts it was about £40 delivered and solved the problem easily! The only other thing I had to do was to knock up a cover for the drive belts as I was doing away with the engine cover, this was done using the back off some old steel racking that was kicking around. Seeing as I was fitting an aircooled engine that had its own fuel tank I had no need for the engine cover or battery/fuel tank housing, so they got cut off to save weight (I work alone so the lighter the chipper is the better!) Once I had fitted the engine I have now ended up with what is basically an "Entec Truckloader" which pretty much seems to be a "Chippit" minus some bodywork. Oh and I also knocked up a shiney new chassis while I was at it! lol!
  17. Work has been very slack recently. I did a fencing job early this week, took some pics and posted them on Facebook. Within an hour I had 3 enquiries, within a day I have recieved another 5 people wanting quotes! You do get the odd enquirey that leads nowhere because its so easy to contact you through Facebook, so expext the odd timewaster but on the whole I would reccomend it!
  18. Ammo box here too!
  19. 4.54kg according to google!
  20. Flames arn`t a prob, will remind me of my Subaru WRX "back in the day"! lol! I know alot of people shun chinese stuff but they seem to make most things you buy nowadays anyway and I dont think they are as bad as they used to be! Glad to hear that yours is still going strong!
  21. Yeah, since having read some reviews on the chinese engines they seem to be good value. Comes with a 6 month commercial warranty too, all for just under £300. Times are hard so my wallet ruled my head, hopefully it will be fine!
  22. A bit differant from when I first bought her! Its ended up basically the same as a Truckloader, which is good as it sure weighs alot less now!
  23. That was the website in the clicky I posted! Great minds and all that...........!
  24. £302! Good job im sitting down! lol! They have loads of stuff on that website. As long as you know; 1) The Diameter of the shaft that you need to fit the pulley to. 2) The Diameter of the pulley you want. 3) The type and size of belt (s) you need the pulley to drive. Then you should find something that will fit!
  25. I bought a new 13mm x 900 drive belt from Mill Auto`s (local motor factors) yesterday for £6, so might be worth trying a local motor factors!
