  1. But the fact that Steve thinks the price should be higher and the fact that it will last you forever unless you lose it actually makes it a fairly priced product for the consumer
  2. Grais thanks for your input all I can say is you need to try it for your self. The Aerodynamic figures might not add up but I have noticed a vast improvement in the hight and accuracy of my shots since using the throwpod ( and I'm not just saying that) the main advantage to the shape may not be how we'll it flys but it defiantly helps it move threw the tree better as you said. Tree stuff should have them in stock very soon so hopefully you won't have to wait to long before you get to try one. Cheers
  3. Charlie if I know Paul Searle like I think I know Paul Searle he won't be letting people use a zig zag in completion because petzl have said to stop using it that mean if another one were to fail the competition organisers insurance would be void. And that goes for industry users as well if your zig zag fails and you survive a fall your stuffed. Just my 2 pence worth. Hope your well mate see you at the comps
  4. I've just seen this splice on eBay, it's ocean vectran with a locking Brummell splice, is this the correct splice for this rope? I thought it was a double braid class 1
  5. Not using one currently but used to on my soft lanyard. It should be easy because you can take the positioner apart so you can attach it mid line
  6. I'd stick with zing it. Got dynaglide as a back up line but very rarely ever use it, nice line and easy to grip but a bit to thick for rough bark
  7. Does any one know what the situation is with rope wrenches and cinches?
  8. If I told you it wouldn't be a secret any more
  9. Not feeling the Dutch patriotism then
  10. No free throw pods for you marc :sneaky2:you know why! Danny I can stretch to a free throwpod hat
  11. Me:confused1: I don't exclusively use the arm wrench and you know that mr high and mighty. What kit I use is my business hahahaha:thumbup:
  12. So for those of you out there who think 10oz isn't a heavy enough weight, This afternoon I started a job with Danavan, we had 3 Corsican pines to strip down to poles ready for felling tomorrow, the pines were roughly 30m tall give or take, and covered from head to toe in thick ivy that had branches sticking out a good couple of feet out from the stem. We had Danavans new bigshot with us and we were give it a whirl with the throwpod, on the last pine I lined my self up for the shot took aim and fired the pod straight through the ivy out the other side and down to the ground, The pod had gotten near enough top anchor and was right in next to the stem, shot of the day:001_cool: How ever my zing it had flown out with a nice knot in the middle of the line but carried on over the branch and out the other side. We needed to track the pod back up the tree to get the rope closer to the stem, So with Danavan keeping an eye on the pod I pulled it almost until it would of popped back out and then I lowered the pod back to the ground ,it took a couple of twangs on the line to get it down but it got there, and this was all done with my limited edition 8oz pod not the 10oz pods that will be on sale,
  13. Yes. Pro Arb used to sell eye 2 eye tenex friction cord. I use it in my rigging and speed line kit
  14. Well...... Yeah basically haha
  15. Marc I've seen you use it to self belay countless times to extend your rope with your lanyard when you've run out of rope maybe that's why it's worn out
  16. Should've waited for a throwpod with a high viz tip then
  17. With the positioner to make it run smooth you have to take your weight off the lanyard which sometimes isn't ideal when your out on skinny branch walks. When the lanyard is weighted this is when the positioner becomes jerker.
  18. Having used both I would say the cinch is better because you can adjust it using either the lever or for quick adjustments just give it a squeeze plus it is good in SRT mode. I use globe with mine really good combo. I liked the positioner but found it kinda jerky the cinch is a lot smoother
  19. I love mine. I wasn't going to buy one but saw one for a bargain on eBay and with 30seconds to go I thought why not. I especially like the fact you can switch to which ever side of the line you want, mines only the 2.5m which I've found often isn't long enough so I might go for the 5m when I get some spare cash
  20. True I am a massive gear junkie, and I'm not knocking the ZZ at all I think it's a nice piece of kit but the main reason I wanted one was to use SRT with the RW but as someone else has unfortunately found out the hard way it's not a good idea, and after having a go on one at the weekend I think the cons out weigh the pros for me but I would be interested in a mk2 if they got rid of the swivel and added a third connection point and rounded it off nicely but we shall have to wait and see
