  1. Video of the Robocut with omega mulching head making short work of a small woodland clearance job Nationwide Self drive hire, New and second hand units available
  2. Just a thread showcasing some forestry/arb applications for the Remote Control McConnel Robocut First up a video of a bespoke full guard kit, incorporating a towbar and recovery winch, being used with in conjunction with a 320 Vavha Jussi Timber trailer - I'm new to video making (and crane use) so bare with me. Any questions or feed back are more than welcome See our YouTube page for the Video
  3. We have mcconnel robocuts for self drive hire with forest mulchers, if your interested, nationwide delivery if it's for long enough http://www.frankalviti.co.uk
  4. I understand the science, but on trees that size, or larger ones with no real lean there's not a lot of point to be honest. Anything really sketchy we'll always climb. But if there's no risk we just leave the hinge thick and pull away.
  5. Why is the winch cable too low? I've felled trees much bigger than that with the winch cable not much higher, if the winch has got the power there's not much point in climbing it surely?
  6. Uniforest 85h pro, epic winch, hydraulic out feed and radio remote control. Really impressed with the build quality and design features
  7. We have a fleet of McConnel robocuts available for self drive hire, this one has a h/d mulching head that eats brambles. Will also work comfortably on 50 to 60 degree slopes. We are based just outside ludlow so not too far from Worcester. http://www.frankalviti.co.uk
  8. 370,000, 55 plate 130, but it's a bit like triggers broom, think only the chassis and cab are original
  9. Where did you get the wrap for the 461 from?
  10. 461 every day of the week, so good, always makes me smile, 25" bar, oversized dogs, absolute monster
  11. you can get extended bump stops, might do the trick?
  12. That was me I've now swapped the vice for a parrot type one that is easily removed from the bracket so no need to turn it, also means the vice lives in the truck and won't go rusty, or walkies!
  13. Round up can be effective but you need to treat 3 times a year for 2 or 3 years, clearing the dead winter canes and spraying the new growth early in the season is pretty effective, or using stem injection if spraying isn't a viable option.
  14. Found this on an oak, one of many brackets of similar size, some kind of gamo?
  15. Worst I had was after if just dismantled a huge limb off an ash, overhanging a stream and borders/shrubs, all lowered/zip lined to the lawn nice and controlled. Chatting to the guy after and he comes out with "so are you a graduate who couldn't find a job or what?..." I was subbing at the time so couldn't say what I really wanted to. So politely explained that actually this was my trade that I had been doing for 10 years and walked away.
  16. One of my bosses used to suffer with Monday morning syndrome from quite a few of his lads, until he introduced a bonus scheme where a percentage of your wage is classed as performance related bonus that you loose for the week if you don't turn up on a Monday or a Friday, amazingly enough stopped the condition almost over night! In my opinion that said more about the quality of staff he had on for him than anything else. But definitely works
  17. Would settle for anyone with chainsaw tickets looking for work, potential for about 10 weeks work
  18. Flexi tubs are good, one of the firms I do some work for use one for theirs, but this is neater and easier to carry. And much geekier
