  1. Arb style Always wanted a decent place for a vice and as we do a lot of woodland/river work without the chipper it had to be on the truck. This was about the best way I could think of. (Haven't welded for a while so no comments on that please!) Anybody done anything similar?
  2. That was only going to end one way
  3. I usually go from top handle to either a 441 with 20" or the 461 with a 25" depending on who I'm working for (the 461 only comes out on my own jobs, 441 is the Monday to Friday saw) much prefer the 461
  4. I'm also after one of these if anyone has any idea?
  5. Had them fitted as an optional extra when my truck was built by the guys at http://www.thedefendercentre.com I expect they'd be able to point you in the right direction if you were after a set
  6. Sooner not say on a public forum! if you look on http://www.defendercentre.com they have a few tippers on there that would give you an idea. This one was built to my spec with a few extras such as the under body boxes, new roof rack, checker plate on the bonnet and wings, ex eng pedal lock, as well as most of the running gear/wearing parts being replaced. The chip box is full spec too with rear barn doors, tool box, chip flap, it's really well made with galv sub frame and the rest being ally. Hopefully last me a few years!
  7. Got the truck from the defender centre. think they get the chip boxes from KMR engineering. Give Marc at the defender centre a ring, you'll struggle to find a more accommodating and helpful guy to deal with.
  8. So went with these in the end, can't fit loads in them but certainly handy for odds and ends, look like the same ones foley's fitted for you Hertswood
  9. Yeah I like the look of those, Stihl ones seem overpriced by comparison when you think you have to buy the no spill caps and file holders separately. I'll add it to the want list...
  10. Oops, not the early finish they envisioned when one of them said 'I recon that will fell' just goes to show that 'stunt fells' aren't always the quickest way to get a job done. It's always worth setting up some mechanical advantage on garden fells, even If your 'sure it'll go'
  11. Its pretty much all I've sold for the last 4 years or so. Had the odd person moan its a bit light but mostly everyones happy. dries super quick as well.
  12. I tried mine on a 13mm rope (Samson arbormaster) to start with and didn't really get on with it that well, bit too stiff, I then moved onto 11.7mm yale lime light and it became so much easier. you'll find if your using mechanical acenders in conjunction with the RW that they work much better with a thinner rope as well.
  13. Used to have the same problem on my tree flex, discovered that a piece of inner tube does the trick nicely Pics and an explanation here: http://arbortricks.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/petzl-caritool-large-vs-small.html
  14. Few mores posts since last week, learning to splice so going to be quite splice heavy for a few weeks! http://arbortricks.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
  15. Good work! Once you've got over the initial apprehension, learn the sequence and trust the gear blocking down is actually pretty fun
  16. Wrong photo, this was actually the first one that came out how i wanted it too, this time in 14mm sirius bull rope, quite addictive this splicing malarky, fast running out of things to splice!
  17. My first splice…well sort of, the first couple may not have come out quite so well! 12mm sirius bull rope. ArborTricks: My first splice... The wonders of arbtalk and youtube.
  18. Yep, that was a good video, well paced, nice bit of back story and not too long, cracking song as well. would like to have a go with those x rings at some point.
  19. To be honest not really, The new blog is more about my own enjoyment and sharing my experiences with arb and the related kit than trying to raise any sort of business for myself, but a link between the two probably wouldn't go amiss, thanks

They may well do but unfortunately I'm in london and the saw is in shropshire, I'll check next time I'm back unless someone else gets in first with the numbers. theres a few bits you need as its the numbers either side, the roller chain catcher and the fixings. does look mean though any body know about that wrap handle?

Got them from my local dealer, was a bit of a faff getting the right part numbers, I'll see if I can dig them out for you, you do loose a couple of inches of bar length but mine mostly lives with the 25 on it so no big loss
