  1. We've made an adaptor plate to use the Giant attachments, as we were short a pair of pallet tines for a local customer. Works fine, doesn't add much weight. The microbull own brand attachments are pretty competitively priced and only as heavy as they need to be. Some others tend to use attachments strong enough to go a much bigger machines, eating into your lift capacity
  2. Klou Log grab, pallet tines, and a bucket of some description covers most things (I do quite like a pelican bucket) Augers handy if your doing a lot of planting or fencing, tow hitch is pretty essential as well (can be fitted with the klou grab, but if moving a 2ton plus trailer I'd always go for a stand alone option) The light weight Klou grab can come with or without the 'heal' part of it and largely depends on what machine it's going on, the Giant handles the heal well, the geometry on the Cast and microBull suit the 'without' version better in my opinion. I'm planning on doing a few videos of both moving brash/logs to chippers and loading trailers to give people a better understanding of this. I'm always happy to answer any questions if you want to know more, we currently have a Giant, worky quad, microbull and ditchwitch on the hire fleet! (Yes I do have a problem!)
  3. Little video of our hire Giant SK252 in action - with the Klou KSG1 Stump grinder - I was pleasantly surprised by how effective this was - Not in the league of a dedicated self propelled machine, but certainly similar to the smaller hp pedestrian machines in my opinion. Nice thing with this unit is you can interchange the attachment plate, it's the same grinder on the Giant and the mini digger, 4 bolts to swap it over.
  4. Our ex hire FSI d30 is for sale in a few weeks (new one coming) Will be less than 350 hours, 2021, well looked after £20k + VAT
  5. I'll PM you some pictures.
  6. Yes, guards are next on the to-do list!
  7. Got our Sany set up somewhere near now. Very impressed with the spec as standard. 2 proportional Aux functions as standard. Both have I think 8 presets so you can vary the flow in 5% increments, means we can have the rotator on the grab at 5% and the flail set to 100% and you just change the setting on the key pad when you change the implement. Not used it in anger to know general running etc, but all looks sound enough. Local dealer had one in stock as well which is always a nice surprise in the current climate. Made this video this morning, making the most of the sunny spell! Didn't come out quite as smooth as I had in my mind when I thought of it, but quite pleased with the effect non the less. https://youtu.be/DY_0dFUWAWE
  8. Anyone in the West Midlands looking at Arb diggers and is on the fence or can't justify purchase we will shortly have a full arb digger set up available for long or short term hire - Brand new 2.6 ton, zero tail digger, available with Fixed grab and rotator, cone splitter, post knocker, auger, stump grinder, timber trailer, flail topper and the usual array of buckets. The unit will be fitted with Green & amber beacons, LED working lights, chapter 8 decals and Full LOLER cert - A 3.5 ton plant trailer is provided as part of the package. More details on our website or feel free to message me for a full run down of the hire kit we have on offer.
  9. Very basic video of the 1m flail in action - this is on back to back grass flails but would cope with bramble/light scrub. I was going fairly steady as I wasn't sure what was in there... Floating linkage works nicely
  10. The mad thing is I spent 10 years as an arb wishing I had access to even half the kit we offer. It was a TW150 and alot of sweat! now we've got it all available and I don't do the job anymore! Couldn't even hire a tracked chipper near me 10 years ago, now we can offer tracked and wheeled loaders, stump grinders, chippers, tracked mewps, Robocuts, alpine tractors, compact timber trailers, digger and grab or flail...
  11. It is, it's on our website www.frankalviti.co.uk
  12. To be fair even wheeled machines your going to need track Mats for any serious amount of material movement. Especially when turning/ spinning involved. We sell the giant machines and have a worky quad we brought for a 6 we hire job we couldn't spare our giant for, so have a good understanding of what's available.
  13. I'm open with every enquiry we have that they are not for everyone, If someone comes to me and says they do a lot of site clearance and big stuff then this isn't the machine for them. This is much more aimed at the domestic market where your trying to mechanise your day to day tree work to make life easier. A common comment is that some days it'll only do 20 minutes on site but knock hours off the job. The fact that it'll fit on a trailer with a tracked chipper (10x5) or in the bed of a truck/pickup is a big plus for lots of guys as well. It is the smallest tracked machine available - Which comes with positives but obviously means it then has it's limitations. Part of the reason we like to do a week long demo to make sure it's what the customer wants, We charge £400 for this (plus VAT) this covers the delivery and collection (this costs us £90 each way) So we're only really covering costs - This is fully refunded if a purchase is made, but ensures the customer is making the right choice for there business
  14. Few more machines and attachments in the yard this week, had a bit of interest in the soil prep side of things from some landscaping guys so have both options available now. As well as base units ready to go
  15. Not that I'm aware of sorry, you could try [email protected]
  16. We've only sold the 23hp so far, the 18hp would more be aimed at the horse/stable market. Landscaping/treework the 23hp is the way to go
  17. Yes, the customer understands this and hence why the tie backs have been fitted to allow it to be secured to something behind the machine. it's more for awkward sites skidding brash etc
  18. The finished article
  19. If you can afford it the FSI D30 is a hell of a machine, build quality and finish is second to none. And you can still get a diesel...
  20. This little set up in progress at the moment, going through the workshop, new unit being provided with a custom winch plate and a standard log grab and grass flail
  21. The latest addition to the microBull club sent me these over the weekend, wouldn't quite do a full IBC, maybe with a heavier driver! Or an extended footplate/counterweight when we get round to sorting one. That Yew log must weigh a fair bit though
  22. If its the flat belt you are after you cannot buy from McConnel anymore, but we have a contck who makes them, i'll dig the number out in the morning, if it's the V belts as many have said you can get anywhere - If you've flat belt and want to make life easier we keep V belt conversion kits in stock - this replaces the pullies and taper locks and converts to a more modern V belt Give us a call if you like 01584711544 -
  23. I thought that!
  24. Few more customer pictures sent to me this week, the blade making light work of the clear up from the hedge cutter, He said it just required a blow after.
