  2. try richard at kingswood training his details available on here in an advert terry
  3. Can't find any forum guidelines can only imagine its something to do with self promotion? As far as I have observed this goes on a lot in most cases under another name but no worries wont post again
  4. kingswood is your best bet remember cheapest aint always the best terry
  5. This is what's called a proximity zone 2 tree that's within 9 metres of the power line with aerial work to be done the power co should be informed Terry
  6. I couldn't agree more these same frequent posters often giving the wrong advice and impression to new members, maybe it would help to have more detailed description of a persons experience for instance if they are posting in training forum are they anything to do with training. We have a system where a junior member may be giving advice to a senior member and this can easily influence new members opinions. Terry
  7. Kings wood is your closest and best Terry
  8. Hi chris your CS certs dont expire (at the moment) but it is a reccomendation that you undergo refresher training at a suitable interval usually every 3 years these courses usually cover a cross section of the criteria and its a chance to update techniques and methods you will receive a certificate of attendance terry

  14. hi mark its fairly simple if you have certificates of competence from NPTC for CS38-39 then you are sorted if you have anything with lantra on your not lantra issue certs for training only and dont qualify as prerequisits terry
  15. your absolutely right dont worry about replies i used to take them seriously but some of them are quite funny terry
  16. what a load of crap you have to ask about the motivation of anyone who is so opposed to training and updating in an industry so full of injury and accidents everyone starts at basic training and learns their trade over many years on the tools most people continue with an open mind to learning new techniques and methods witch continue to improve arboriculture some think they have reached the pinnacle of arboriculture when they have a lot to learn and as i said its nothing whatsoever to do with cs units or instructor choice it is due to continued accidents and incidents in arboriculture their are those who post on this forum in training/education who have nothing whatsoever to do with training CAREFULL WHO YOU TAKE ADVICE FROM terry
  17. the trainers if they are registered and most are not have to attend regular update with technical standard verifiers as nptc assessors they have to be re verified bi annually in each group they assess the verifiers job is to keep up with latest minute industry details and pass this onto assessors i can only speak for myself but i am still on the tools and have been so for 20 years i take a lot of pride in my training and have a lot of repeat custom from it it is nothing to do with trainers/assessors to (force it on the industry) to line our pockets this legislation witch by the way doesnt exist yet for the cs units comes through afag and the hse as a reaction to the high number of "accidendts" each year whilst i partially agree with the point of view that reassessment/refresher is in some case overkill you have to remember there are guys out there who cant rescue when needed and as for there chainsaw use its frightening councils and reputable companys have ben refreshing their staff for years now with no fuss terry registered instructor assessor
  18. ill consider myself told off shall i and its my opinion i agree its perhaps in the wrong bit of the forum but thats not my fualt terry
  19. this is not a thread i would normally get involved with like many others im used to the press reporting sensationalist rubbish with the only motivation to sell paper, however after reading that the thread may or may not have been deleted on the basis of one persons opinion it reminds us of the power of media and censorship kinda like a super mega rupert murdoch thing imagine if he had a big red button!! terry
