  1. RobD off here at Chainsawbars is selling av gloves that are machine washable, not tried them yet but they sound pretty good. I bought a pair of av gloves recently, can't remember where now but they are ok. Felt a bit weird at first as they have rubber ribs across palms and fingers but like yourself after 2days of 7hrs solid carving without gloves my finger was numb/tingly for about 4 days.
  2. I'd carve a wood spirit/ ent creature out of that
  3. Hi Rob, which one out of the two blocking out bars will fit an 026 ? Cheers, Si
  4. Yes what they said:thumbup1:
  5. Very nice mate! No reason to beat yourself up over using chisels, I do the same. If a tool makes the job possible use it, whether it's a chainsaw, power tool, chisel or burner they all have a place in my world:biggrin:
  6. Thanks guys, what do you reckon haulage would be ? Would it work out cheaper if it was done as a return on another delivery so as not coming back empty? Cheers, Si
  7. That's got great form, nice one:thumbup1:
  8. Sounds interesting. Got any piccies?
  9. Someone was trying to sell a hollow oak butt ages ago, I can't find the thread now but it was too far down south for me. If anyone comes across another, doesn't have to be oak please pm me. Ideally north west England area as I'm Liverpoolish. Needs to be 3' min diameter. Cheers guys, Si
  10. Tsumura has come out with a special bar for the Stihl 150's in the .43 gauge. Probably will only be available in US when it comes out. Maybe an idea for you RobD, see if it's worthwhile Sugi hara making some. Apparently Cannon won't be doing any , any time soon. Here's a link from carvers network, Carving Post Forum: Re: MS150 Carving Bar Cheers, Si
  11. Get in touch with Cumbria Woodlands, they have up to 75% discount until the end of July.
  12. I'd probably run one off an 026, had a quick look at one today courtesy of Mr Burgess, forgot to ask him how much they cost. Not tried one but they look pretty useful:thumbup: Definitely on my wish list:biggrin:
  13. What sort of price is the harrycane Ross?
  14. Hi Stumpy, I might be able to rough it out for you mate on that price, providing it's only a couple of hours work and there's no nails etc. PM your details mate Cheers Si
  15. Good stuff Ian, Are you doing all that with the dremel pictured? Si
  16. I'm tempted Justin but again it's a fair old trek and I'm not really in a position to bring a load of ready-mades to make the most out of a free stall. I can't believe there's no one nearby, this is a great opportunity to show case your talents!
  17. Gussharts do the sandoflex, not tried one but it's been on my to buy list for a while. Sand-O-Flex I make my own flappy mops from strips of old sander belts.
  18. Clear decking oil would be my choice.
  19. Possibly a different problem but my back will often lock up and go into spasm. I can't take ibuprofen or aspirin so I have diaz when really bad and dihydrocodine for pain relief. Anything morphine based will make you well constipated so drink plenty. After many trips to the doc I was referred to a physio. If your muscles are going into spasm you need to try and work them rather than keeping still. She recommended hot compresses rather than cold as you want to warm the muscles to help relax them. If you can picture this, stand up straight, legs apart slightly. left arm at your side try to stretch sideways reaching down side of left leg, short bursts stretching further each time, say four or five tries and then repeat on the other side. Helps me anyways, I hope you get back to it quickly. Si
