  1. Haha yes probably, I like to think they come in all shapes and sizes. Pixie in spirit if not in ears
  2. Thanks Dave, I've learned from this one and that's what it's all about mate:001_smile:
  3. I don't normally do humaniods cos they're damn tricky, but I'm on a push on and get better drive at the moment:laugh1:
  4. Can anyone on here deliver some big logs from derbyshire to merseyside for me? It's 107miles and about 10ton. PM me a quote if you can. Cheers, Simon
  5. Carved this today at a lovely quiet spot by a private lake.
  6. I did a bench for a forest school a while back and they had one of their catalogues. The price may reflect their web presence investment. No doubting these guys have good business heads, but I'd agree that the products are a little disapointing.
  7. Gutted for you, in regards to beefing up a roof what about the concrete reinforcing re-bar mesh? Bolted on the rafters/joists with tin roof on top.
  8. Hi John, pm sent. Definitely interested if sweet not horse mate.
  9. Hi I'm needing some 30" and bigger diameter tree butts for some carving projects in the coming weeks. Species resilient to rot like oak, cedar, sweet chestnut if possible please. I'm based at Formby, so could probably arrange collection if fairly local. As in the title areas such as West Lancs, Liverpool, Southport etc would be perfect. Please pm me if you can help me out. Cheers, Si

I'd love to see chainsaw kex vat free but as has been said in other threads, where do you draw the line? There's loads of safety kit for all sorts of trades, surely they'd all like their kit vat free too.
  11. Bang goes your profit margin eh Russell, those little chains aren't cheap!

Hi mate, I think helmets are vat free too, it's got something to do with building sites ie safety boots and hard hats are essential kit and as such are vat exempt.
  13. Hi Jon, Cheers for the heads up, whose Ian mate? What's his name on here?
  14. Apologies for posting this twice but as in the title I have a job coming up and I really need to source about three large diameter logs for it. Please PM me if you have any,or will be taking one down soon. Oak, sweet chestnut, wellie, cedar preferred but will consider different species too. Merseyside/ west Lancs area. Thanks in advance, Si
  15. Sorry Mendiplogs:sneaky2: I need some big tree butts for an upcoming job, please PM me if you have any,or will be taking one down soon. Oak, sweet chestnut, wellie, cedar preferred but will consider different species too. Merseyside/ west Lancs area. Thanks in advance, Si
  16. very nice mate, got a sense of serenity about it.
  17. Not sure mate, cypress maybe? My tree ident is a bit limited and it had no leaf to id. Very nice to carve mind:001_smile:
  18. Ha yes I can see that that went down well! Sorry Alec:sneaky2:
  19. Five years anniversary is wood, did this for a friend of my wife for theirs. The text is from their wedding confetti.
  20. Spent a back breaking day today at the allotment trying to get on top of things. Lots of weeding and digging over. Got the spuds in and some onions, moved about 40 raspberry bushes from a weed infested bed into a clean one. Need to replace several panes in the greenhouse before I can use it, but a few more hard days should get it all done:001_smile:
  21. Here's another one. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8FA_l_r2lDY/Ubzil8rf5rI/AAAAAAAAApY/hb5Ms_2k3I0/s1600/IMAG1093.jpg
  22. I did this one last year as a prototype. Central hub is a hollowed out tree, with fort/house on top and optional add ons like slide or swings etc. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaw-carving-forum/61230-finished-tree-house-finally.html
  23. If only I was closer:sad:
