  1. A tree officer inspected the tree 1 year ago and said it was the worst case he had ever seen....God knows how its taken a year to get it down???
  2. Fair point but a crane would have complicated the job in its situation, the council have been repairing a road land slide for the last 7 months and the road is open now. A crane would have worked very well but we just didn't have the room for snedding up on the ground, lots of cyclists and pedestrians too Not bad for a two man team
  3. It may have been a possibility to climb and rig it but shock loading a tree in this condition was not an option for me, the photo's certainly do not show the extent of root damage. We did it with a two man team, and only have to fell the stem in the morning Happy days
  4. Best way to prevent stumps from shooting is eco-plug's, granulated Glyphosate

  10. I went to see a customer who again is a previous customer, she wanted a row of trees out enabling the builder to get the founds in for a new wall and gates bla bla bla, she told me before i had even looked at the job that the builder is willing to do them for £200! He will just use his jcb to push them over (7 sycamore at 15m height), i quoted double his quote and got it. Did the job last week, cant beleive she was even considering letting them do it, i did mention that i would build her wall (with a smile on my face), she knew what i was getting at. Some people eh

  17. That's what you get for walking under the tree without your lid on, bloody knacked. Had a lad from college gaining experience with me one day and he was chugging down the stem when I told him to come down as we could fell what was left, unknown to me he had left the last chog on top of the pole without chucking it down. I then proceeded to put the gob in and back cut, it was s boiling day and we had finished all cutting so the lid came off, pushed the standing stem oven only to be knocked to my knees, didn't know what had happened until 5 mins later as I inspected the top if the stem hmmmmmm silly me
