  1. I've just had a quote of £2,880 plus vodka and tonic, for the ARM, so not very cheap, but I do like the look of it. However, I may have to go down the "adding a pto pump to my splitter" route. Can the ARM be "converted" to one hand operation, not that I would ever consider doing it!
  2. I have a 15 ton splitter run off the tractors hydraulics which works very well. However, to free up the tractor, I would like to run a splitter off my MF 35, which hasn't the hydraulic capabilities of the bigger tractor, so what I want is a hydraulic 15 ton splitter run off the pto, preferrably with auto-return, but there doesn't seem to be much choice. Any recommendations? Or another thought, what would I need partswise to convert the current splitter to run off the pto?
  3. Where are you Tom, I am in NE Scotland so distance may be an issue.
  4. I'm looking for one of these saws, does anyone have one spare for sale?
  5. Would it not be easier to reverse into it, for visibility, with some sort of plate attached to the back of the beast?
  6. Bit stingy selling them one at a time?
  7. Two of my old Masseys.
  8. So do car sales sites, but they can do 10 photos and the price. Just saying..
  9. I've just had a look at their website. Something that annoys the hell out of me is why no prices? What is he trying to hide? It's not a state secret so put up the prices and save each other a lot of time emailing/calling each other. I won't deal with someone who won't display their prices. My pet hate! Rant over.
  10. Bit like the: "What weighs more, a ton (I only think in Imperial weights) of coal, or a ton of feathers?"
  11. I have a 2006 L200 Warrior and it has always had a small amount of transmission vibration that you can feel though the seat that gets worse the faster you go. Over about 55mph if you depress the clutch, you get a lot of vibration through the pedal. Recently it was getting worse with a small clunk when accelerating or decelerating so asked my local spannerman to have a look. He found the rear UJ was badly worn, so replaced it. It is better, the on/off clunk has gone, but the vibration is still there through the seat and when depressing the clutch pedal. Has anyone had a similar problem with theirs?
  12. That won't damage the engine, but as others have said, the bores are glazed. One of my tractors had glazed bores, and I managed to "cure" it by towing a heavily loaded trailer up a steep hill a good few times. You must get the engine working really hard.
  13. I tend to use one of these
  14. Antique axe for sale. Unused for the last fifteen years, attached cobwebs are free.
  15. Which woodburning stove? The problem with that question is that we are all going to claim that ours are the best. We are not going to admit that we bought a shoyte woodburner, are we? All I can say is that I am happy with my Dunsley, whether it is better or worse than other makes, I have no idea. It heats my house.
  16. Wood. Dry variety. Hot hoose. Simples.
  17. Being a very tight Scot, I have a few of these. One of them is around 30 years old so they will all outlast me!
  18. I am talking about a 414, I don't think you are:confused1:
  19. Fit a 35-7 loader, tipping ram, diverter valve. TWO reverse gears AND a pickup hitch. STAND on the brakes when needed and power steering is for wimps. Few years down the line, 5k for the 35X, or weigh the nasher in for £130/ton.
  20. This idiot collector thinks they are a fantastic little tractor, ran rings round 414's back when I drove a new one. 50 years on they are making at least £4,000. Must be a lot of idiots out there keeping the price up 540 PTO is at 1720 rpm's if I remember correctly, and they can rev to 2,250 rpms.
  21. At 2,250rpm's it should be 18L/min at 2,000psi, the relief valve should kick in at 2,500psi, so change the relief valve or something will go bang.
  22. It's 3.98 gallons per minute at 2000psi, so say 18 litres per min.
  23. Is it electric or hydraulic Bill?
  24. Slightly manic TCD, but finally the voice of reason. LOGS!
  25. The last few posters mention cordwood. What on earth is it? I always thought a cord was an US measurement of volume. Am I being thick?
