  1. Could you make it out to Agg221. I'm a bit short this month and Alec has a fine collection of 090's that he's known to utilise on late payers.
  2. Felix is the most safety concious worker I have yet encountered, and all credit to him. I blackmailed him into that particular task by hiding his lunchbox until he had made it safe. In all seriousness, being a forester at heart I was all ready to fell the tree it was hung up in. Felix is not of the idiot persuasion and reasoned me out of it.
  3. I like to take photos of my woodland visitors. Shame it clouded over when Mr Bullman popped in for a social.
  4. Had Agg221 over at the wood yesterday for a day's HEAVY duty milling. Alec hires himself out on a day rate with his Alaskan and mini mill and collection of classic saws. We managed to beam up a sizeable Oak stem for a customer who is building a cart lodge. Alec knows exactly what he's doing and as such is very productive with little waste. Also had the pleasure of Felix's company for three days last week. See if you can spot him tackling one of the jobs that I really didn't fancy!
  5. I also have nice processor size Ash and Birch. Been down over a year £55 ton +VAT roadside. 3mtr lengths.
  6. Your best bet is probably Matt at Oxford Charcoal Company. I think they have a website.
  7. How much do you need? And do you want it bagged?
  8. My dippy mate Ivor Lamb had a ewe tree taken down by Chris Shepherd. I never took Chris for a crook but he hoofed an extra tuppance onto the quote after bending his baa! I reckon poor Lamby got fleeced.
  9. Overstood Hazel is perfect for charcoal, although I think you said you weren't keen to get into that, rendering this post damn near useless!
  10. I produce logs for wholesale and charge £55 plus VAT per cubic mtr collected.
  11. I encountered his grave stone the other day. It read: Queer Pies the faker of productive sext.
  12. Good spot! It's my weekend hobby. It's my job to ensure the car gets to the start line in tip top condition. I take pride in my work, hence putting my name to it.
  13. Thanks Bob, It would be remiss of me not to point out to potential buyers that the glove box light can be a bit temperamental!
  14. Sorry Bob, I was attempting a three point turn and misjudged the proximity of the trees. I was late for bell ringing practice so decided to leave the car there. Please do help yourself, it's got six months tax and it sailed through its last MOT.
  15. There is an embarrassingly large amount of clean energy available to us, we just don't have the guts or the foresight to realise it's full potential. The Sun emits enough energy to melt a bridge of ice 2 miles wide, 1 mile thick, and extending the entire way from the Earth to the Sun (93 million miles), in one second. Obviously only a fraction of this energy hits the Earth, but it is still plenty. The amount of solar energy reaching the Earth's surface exceeds our world's entire electricity consumption by a factor of 20,000! We currently harness about 0.1% of this potential. Why desperately scrabble for polluting fossil fuels when we are literally bathing in all the energy we will ever need? Guess who spent the morning on Google?
  16. If you ever move operations to Suffolk I can help you out. I fear I am a bit too far away for you. Good luck with your search. TVI
  17. OK, seeing as my effort was technically a starter and not the main meal in which I could only manage one solitary sprout, I concede defeat. You may choose my avatar for a year and change it as many times as you like. Well sprouted that man!
  18. We were at Mrs Idiots sister's house and I hadn't forseen a sprout starter. It did include onion which makes me compliant with the two veg rule. I had 24 sprouts and claim victory.
  19. Apparently they also do a very passable tawny port. Coat on and out the door!
  20. Those poor sods producing your processed logs must be grafting themselves into an early grave! I trust you shout them a tin of Quality Street at Christmas.
