  8. hell yeah nice one, even more awesome pics.... do you find it hard sometimes to find a safe work position, while doing the coronets? did 3 ash trees for a farmer just after xmas, all 3 heavy reductions and one i coronet-ed ......just thought work position was a bit awkward!!! probably me just being a prune.....

  10. Awesome david, must of taken a fair amount of time to make the cornets .....?
  11. i know we aint always seen e2e hama but to come away from arb .............? i think you would be stupid, we need guys like you in our industry regardless of views and believes, ideas and theories at the end of the day we are human and we are all entitled to a/our own opinion. we are human and arguing over topics like this are whats makes us the most diverse complexed organisms in the world.....we are so un-predictable yet nothing not even the earth has given up hope on us yet.... so hama as far as the aches and pains go all i can advise is supplements, go see a doc, but your brain/thoughts/theories and more are whats making the younger generation think about this industry more not just young/dum/and full of cum climbers, i mean you actually make these young guns want to lern about real tree surgery...........
  12. awesome action shots.... i really don't no a lot about cameras but saying that the light should be in front, anit that hard to do when its really cloudy like in the photos???

  14. looks really narly, awesome tree, can see were they thought about the graft, and maybe, true, but my guess would also be as yours just reverting back nice work chap..........
  15. Yes and no? Yes i own one as sam has already said, and after owning it for about 7 months or so, and rigging on it for 7 months at least twice a week.........i have never used it at all? not once???? i am told by everyone on the ground that it is awesome, and if you feel that you don't want to spend that amount on anything else then get one, there great for your average rigging scenario's and i have put some Reg coates sized pieces on to it to, now if i'm honest with you i will say this! save that little extra and buy the stein single bollard, for several reasons really, the tree runner is cheap for a start, now thats not saying its crap i'm just saying its looking more than 7 months old already, 500kg swl thats plenty and the preservation mounts are great to(same as stein bollard with rubber mounts on), but that is your limit you can't take the mounts of and cut the back plate into the tree like you can the stein single bollard, and get near 3000kg swl but then i would never be lowering that, i would just find the stein on dismantles alot more sturdy being able to do just that though:sneaky2: . now not sure about the steins durability but having seen most of Reg's videos they can take quite a pounding, now thats were the p500 is not so robust, i had about a 75kg piece pushed onto one of the pegs and bent it slightly, if there are any other questions i'll try and answer them but it will be answers only what i've been told... .............. but don't take my word for it bro, i've never used one before, from in the tree it feels smooth but then it don't matter whats being used! its always the quality of your groundy that matters mate, now if i was to choose again for me it would always be the stein.....
  16. the tree had a lean on it and should of used a dog tooth cut to relieve the pressure on his hinge......and yes he could of gone a bit further which may have prevented it ..... or not......
  17. can honestly say in 14 years i have never had it done nor seen it done, only just been pics and videos, i understand how its done there for i guess thats why i've never done it.......
  18. i have tears streaming over this one i love it...... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S6PPKUDGfc]Farting Dolphin - Funny Talking Animals - Walk On The Wild Side preview - BBC One - YouTube[/ame]
  19. awesome rob................ love big eagles .......
  20. i love my lockjack..... but i love my hitch even more....... the 2 jacks are great, yeah it self tends half the time! and it is only half the time, but i also feel that self tending is over rated... i find jacks very clumsy though on reductions, i alternate between hardware on take downs the lock jack and i prefer to use a hitch on pruning jobs its more precise, easy to tend my minute movements, your hitch is always going to be personal preference and dependent on your weight rope and hitch cord types, are some of the major factors to your hitch self tends or not. don't know about you rich but i have noticed slight difference in the op colour, i just need to ajust my hitch a little more on the green but the red always seemed to be set right???? the best thing to do is to try lots of different hitch cord for your rope and try lots of different hitches to suit your style, weight, rope, and cord
  21. i had noticed Frank has not been on for a while..... can't be gibbon the arms are not long enough..... unless it really was you mate?
  22. always make sure your dead eye is a couple of mm more than your rigging line mate.....keeping the rope the weakest part of your system use a whoopie for the porta wrap its better IMOA
  23. lovely shot tommy...... liking the birds nest....great idea.......
