  1. Seen it , debated with myself and reliesed the chip box isn't big enough after filling my tranny in no time today . Little over priced too. Typically I did think about one of these Originaly. temtation
  2. Morning. I was thinking of doing a min 2m rather than the strict 1m. The 2 hollow horizontal limbs could do with more weight off them. I had a drive past again on my travels. Evidence of inner Canopy producing new growth . Small but life anyways. I want to retain , Id just like a much to present the customer as possible
  3. absolutely no idea how to sort the pics - were my hand is under the base , that is the opposite side of the hollow entrance . there are a further 2 smaller but hand size section that are like this too I've a feeling the council will say no to removal but owner loves the tree, but safety is a issue please fire away with all comments , I'm to get in touch with TO and put forward a case for more work - i.e. , heavy reduction , thou owner wants a tree with a canopy - or full removal on safety grounds it could stand for years but I've informed my customer i don't have a crystal ball only advice
  4. here goes again , fingers crossed they are the right way around
  5. ok guys , sorry for the delay - internet has been down. customer didn't even relies the inside was so bad , until i tore a chunk of dry brown out and gave it to her… edited - I've no idea why its showing my pics upside-down , they are fine on my computers …. il see if i can sort it sorry guys
  6. Taking ages to add pictures from iphone. I will add more the correct way round on computer later this evening.
  7. I recently carried out work on a property which has had work granted to many trees. The last bit of work was a large oak to have a 1m prune on the canopy Upon starting the job I had myself a very good look over this tree, I've attached a few pictures. I knew about the cavity in the base however once climbed I noticed the 2 first large limbs were Completly hollow thus showing the decay is min 12ft up the stem, I can now put my hand under almost every corner of the base,The crown has nothing on the inside branch wise and plenty deadwood, the site stands on clay so it's waterlogged a lot which I guess hasn't helped things I decided not to take there money for this part of the whole job as it could be better spent on A-a proper inspection using specialist kit b-full removal (which is a right shame) C-heavy reduction D-rather than full removal cut right back to produce a scary looking evil dead tree with a main stem and large limbs Any input is always welcomed
  8. Friends with site manager so he was being honest. Only company that quoted
  9. I just landed a windfarm job in Scotland. I was told I was a little under. They added 15% onto my quote. Cheers
  10. Need a climber for a small tree Monday morning in walker / Newcastle I have injured my back so having a week off. But there is one small tree (1hr max inc clean up) plus 2 stems to fell / ring up ready for me to stump grind mid morning. Easy job for somebody Any takers ? Thanks

Handy arb cart too Offering myself out to any body who may need help in the durham/Tyneside/Northumberland area. I've always got work booked in but it's nice to pick up a job or 2 extra with other folk Currently awaiting upgrade to 6.5t truck so will have a good setup to shift a lot of weight in the future Also have an extra worker if needed who is undergoing training. Will drag brash for fun and lift geet big logs
  12. Place near mine got done over. (Durham way). Up my security
  13. After some advice on circular log saws. Wanting to move away from chainsaw to cut my split lengths. Seen a few machines with a 70cm blade that's near always coverd, ideal to leave be dad at the yard all day unattended. Petrol / diesel or elec Any body recommend any machines. Cheers
  14. The guy said 'it can be put back to 3.5'. After I asked 'was it downplated from 5.2' Don't think he understood what I meant Still struggling to find a decent 6.5. And this other vehicle came up as a handy other vehicle maybe
  15. No sure. All I know is it plated 4.5t so it has a legal payload of 1.5t as it has a Hiab fitted. Just if it could be 5.2 (heard they are same chassis) it could still have an ok payload for tree work
  16. Evening. Just a questions regards uprating. Could a 3.5 daily go upto 5.2 ? It already been uprated to 4.5. Thanks
  17. I'm also looking for a decent backup saw if anybody's got one for sale. Obviously il wait in line
  18. Hello. I'm looking for a website that'll supply alloy planking and other coach build items. Going to make a chip box over a wintery week off work in the new year rather than pay somebody. (I'm Originaly a panel beater so itl not be such a difficult task) Thanks in advance
  19. This is something I'd love to do in 2016.
  20. I've only started selling mine this year. Just been shifting average 6 bulk bags every Saturday for past 2months. All goes towards new truck build. Every seller around here seems to sell timber ethier freash cut or stored outdoors. Won't be long until I get more customers. Nice steady side line to pay of tools quicker
  21. I highly recommend uprated springs. I also recommend moving to a 6.5tonner like im doing. This was a one off thou next to the tip site
  22. Unlucky. I once had a ball hammer go thru my old chipper. Was hidden in some privet hedgerow. A Grands worth of parts later it was fixed. Total headache Luckily your tw is ok.
  23. It's quite tempting but I'd be still no further forward managing my tip off time It be nice shift a lot of waste in one go safely for a change I think this ticket says more than £300 fine mind chris . (I must state Thou I was on private land adjoining the tip site)
  24. I'm getting away from the 3.5t Chris. It's just pointless playing roulette with vosa as someday il get caught out on the a1/a19 hence moving up
