  1. cant see a reason for a vehicle of that size used for private - unless u like dropping kids off at school in a 7t truck
  2. anything over 3.5 requires o liecence , unless agri registerd --- but theres 2 types , normal and restricted (ideal for 1 man band) on another note , these regualr inspections , are they 6 or 12 weeks ? regualr daily weekly i can do no probs plus access to garage ramps etc away rom home. im hoping the only real cost is the 6 or 12 week check , which can only be an hr's labour at garage £38 any repairs need doing at some point so o liecence stops me putting things off for a while the cost over 5 years isnt much realy if u break it down into a yearly cost - worth it for 1 man band wanting to up the game a little on work wise please correct me if im wrong - cheers
  3. no cpc with restricted o liecence i believe - long as u do own daily checks , log everything then your sweet think u may have to get a garage to do a proper look over every 6 weeks , or if your confident / expierence you can just do it all yourself could be wrong - i hope so as looking to get a 5.2 or 6.5 like yourself if this si the case the yearlu cost isnt that bad to cover your back , sure id save that much in fuel going back to jobs

nokia lumia utter crap to use ......... i miss my 4s , and my apps
  5. knew they charged for putting cash in as ran garage with my brother , and always heard him having a rant -- now i reliese why he didnt like paying in cash and preferd debit cards n chqs problem with banks these days u go in , and the business manager is based all the way down south in another branch. i will be going in for a bit crack , but always good to put feelers out for others opinions on wheres the best deal..
  6. think santander are bining the free business banking , i could be wrong never seen there cash machines around here , mind u i havent looked
  7. had on a second ,so its 'ok; to charges 89p per 100quid paid in (cash), and same again to take it out. thats a piss take. they make money from the cash in my and everybodys account without charging us. a flat monthly fee would be better
  8. looked at the fsb site , cant find how much membership costs ? can u give me a quick idea as the co-op idea seems pretty cool llloyds charged me £32 this month , to some thats not alot but a small business thats my moble phone bill. id rather get paid with chqs , at least its only 30p per chq reguardless of cost - the buggers even charged me for online transactions from customers
  9. today i came to the end of my free 18month new business banking its not nice to know what exactly the banks do take after this period i always knew it was around 89p per £100 paid in , its a total joke , along with all other charges - im with lloyds - the bastards even charged me to take out cash when i could have used machne and got charged nothing question is 'who do you bank with' and 'are they free (wish)'
  10. few land on ebay quite offten - ex council 55/56 plates - around 5k - average 50/60k miles. i did see a few 6.5t chassis cabs , thats a nice extra 1.3t with the same old chasis as the 5.2 i believe. thats means i can build a massive chip box for plenty chip and firewood im looking to purchase in febuary after the winter hibernation period:thumbup1:
  11. argree with 6/700kg - totaly pointless isnt it realy , fire up that chipper for an hour, the backs full and over weight.. and still the timber to shift. headed for a 5.2/6.5 iveco daily myself with restricted o liecence - looked into it and it not as much of a pain in thre arse as it seems - appart from extra costs but over the year is not that much
  12. 30/31/38/39/ua1 things slowing for winter tbh at the moment , so all my kit getting its winter service and put to bed in the workshop til its needed- had a very busy summer so tucked up nicely til march cash wise, so a bit work just for the expierence would be great. away from the urban back gardens
  13. cool place up there - would love a job up that way - maybe one day - wifes dad works up kielder forest , lucky man .
  14. well thats that idea forgot about as i did a little research and it came back similar- tbh thou its about 0.5miles away in an area which has no real value yet 50m away from my house in total open countyside and peacefullness , they 'plan' to build a massive housing association estate there, thanks , since time begain there been nout there appart from fileds and a old railway line / coast to coast route - been plenty brown envelopes being moved around there - one rule for them , one for us
  15. theres a pice of land come up for sale just along road from me , it states perminant pasture land , 1.5achres now does any body know what i can and cant do with it ? i know its many for grazing but could i erect a barn for timber storage ??? cheers
  16. you know your determind to keep going when after 2 years u take your first wage , and even then its piss poor , just to get the kit together...
  17. hand vs machanicaly sharpening is like the vinyl vs cd debate ---- ongoing for life
  18. self emplyed is good crack , only because i dont work on a monday because ive been out all weekend
  19. on the chipper front the worst bit of kit i bought was a tw100g , took ages and hard work to to get rid of brash , having said that it was still better than brash in the back of the tipper then mashing it up when i first started, which also lead to 2 trips to the tip instead of just 1. decided to sort my **** out and onto a tw125 which cost 3k more and life was heaven. made money back much faster , 1/3rd of a day saved here n there. tbh ive only been out of colledge just over 1 year , the 2 parttime years before that at colledge were a complete waste of time, i learnt more from books, videos and on here from posts from people who been doing this since there were shittin yellow. i supose the only other reason i can keep going is by coming from a business background of 14years in the motorindustry (bodyshop with brother) - so working 6-7 days 10-12hrs was nothing new. the best tool i have is 2 wheel barrows
  20. thanks tw tech - and thanks for the pm's rom many other people on here - cheers
  21. i get a lad in called dan wilson - he is just in gateshead - but does travel - you can pm him on here but not sure he gets on much or drop me a pm and il dig oot his number
  22. just to add a quick 10p , best thing i ever did was get a climber in for jobs to get done quicker , why pay a groundie £60 and have the job on the ground run not how i want it while i climb - sometimes i jnow ust pay a climber say £100 and i then get to run the ground like it should... at least i get to respect my chipper for the sake of £40 extra it gets my days graft over quicker..... the way i look at it is im in business , and ive got enough to do without running myself into the ground.. currently i take a very small wage - something that i feel should be done to start off with and invest. I knowen people to start businesses and spend loads , take loads and when times go quite theres no money in pot for repairs .. if you have an idea go for it . i still do shitty garden jobs on a monday good luck

    hour clock

can i fit an hour clock to my tw125 - 2006 model make life easier for servicing plus had new engine so be good to back up the miles when i ever sell it , cheers
  24. looks like items 11,12,13,14 werent original parts , just poor items somebody has replaced. i shall be ordering those , plus the long bolt to hold the plastic roller cover in place and if possible the red stop button. at least it just little things. other than that its great. cant fault the machine tbh think i might drill the shoot lip and were it meets the body and place a pin in it , just as a back up , you never know , might not be so lucky next time - and we always check and check again every time - just one of those things i supose
