  1. if youve got the use for it keep it, if its gonna sit and rot then chop it in as it is and sort your new motor out exactly how you want it.
  2. im not aware of the full law in this case although i bet the tractor he passed his test on could go faster than 20mph. can of worms we all know, best bet is to ring your local bodie on this or plead ignorant to 'well its an ag vehical' if the need ever arises, not that i condone such a thing though.... Aaron
  3. if its classed as an ag machine then yes. although there are restrictions of wich im not familiar with. Aaron see post above!
  4. Depends what you class as a clean up, yes some people do make hell of a mess some how, depends on wich way your running the rotor and age of hedge you are cutting, but generally in comparision, there is no clean up.
  5. The finger bar types and the saw blads do do a tidy job on some bigger diamiter stuff and the fingerbars are good on conny hedges etc.....but, main factor to consider is the clean up after, with a flail, there isnt any.

    Splitter

After the new year im looking into a new splitter. Dont want anything super fancy etc but something that is fairly fast, can split 3ft lengths of anything, tractor mounted or self powered considered doesnt matter, any recommendations? Iv looked at a few from riko, wallenstein etc, would just like a hands on opinion. Thanks Aaron
  8. you have pm fella. Aaron
  9. ignore all the negative comments, i can sell you a nice 500 honda :-) Aaron
  10. mortgage! although id like to go mad and blow the lot.......
  11. id love to have four acres i could play with, so much you could do. another thought maybe if you havnt got the time to manage it is to get some one else in to do, find some one local, maybe a young lad in the area is looking for some where to keep bit of stock, cut them a deal so you can reap a reward as in meat etc...
  12. theres alot of stuff being taken round that area, red diesel, trailers etc, couple farmers have been hit hard.
  13. im not a jelous person............but mr blair...........im jelous!! haha got any better pics of the new beast, looks very nice.. Aaron
  14. what about a large-ish 360 with grab......
  15. we used to forage alot of this and bracken for composting. dont know about a use for biomass though.
  16. Due to a change of circumstances etc we have been currently looking into the purchase of a small loader for post hole boring and shifting materials about. Can anybody reccomend any? heard alot of good about the kanga range, look very good to me specially as they will be a smother ride over the fixed track machines although look like they will make more mess due to being a narrower track width. Anybody used the boxers or vermeer versions or any others, im yet to look into figures wich could be a big decideing factor. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance. Aaron
  17. you should speak to your local council, they usually supply the plough you just have to mount it and drive it..... Aaron

    higher octane.

does anyone run there saws on the higher octane petrol you can buy and is there any noticable differance or is it any better for the saw. sorry if this has been covered before. Aaron
  20. id have hilux all day long, good mate of mine has just bought extra cab and its pretty impressive, handle trailers etc with ease, plenty of poke to boot! rangers are a good option as well, all ill say is that the depreciation of toyota is very little compared to ranger, youll loose plenty of money on the ranger.
  21. in an ideal world yes............. but lets be cost effective, to cut and bale 10 acres of decent growth your talking well over £500, oh yea, then will have to do the same next year.......... fair do's, little late to be spraying it as it will be back next year but if you get it earlier next year youll be on the home run. i honestly dont think people will pay costs to bale etc on a waste product. Aaron
  22. Iv had landrovers, rangers etc and all i will say is the forrester was the best motor i have ever had! i fitted rally tyres to it and it will go anywhere anything else can apart from anywhere a bit of ground clearance is needed. There comfy, fast and good for doing few miles in. If im honest i bought it for £900, totally abused it, never put a spanner on it and went up to 200,000 miles then head gasket went, i then sold it for £400! if i didnt have to tow i would only have a forrester!
  23. im well behind the times with all these gadgets. what can you actually do with the ipad? Aaron
  24. Im not addicted to it but through the winter i was having litre and half flask while working, lived on it all winter and never noticed any differance. come spring and the slightly warmer days when cold drinks were needed i stopped drinking coffee, i was basically knackered, run down and ready for bed by 6pm. Took me ages to get back to how i was.
  25. yes there is, 'huntingdon reycleing'. we carry out some work there.
