  3. Agree with regular ash canker in later stages, but not nectria. How dose Fire blight enter into your train of thought Tony. I know it mainly associated with rosaceae
  4. Big Ash stems any Good. What size and volume are you after.
  5. The posibility of Chalara in ash must not be ignored in this case, how ever Nectria and chalara symptoms they look very similar. Nectria in apples has been about for years and yes it can kill the trees if not controlled, and yes it can be controlled without condemning the whole tree. Not forgetting certain strains of Fire blight that also shows the same symptoms of Chalara. Pseudomonas Canker - In Ash. This has been with us for many years, quite often on the older trees, and I have seen many old coppice trees suffering with Pseudomonas , and once coppiced some of the young shoots are killed off by Pseudomonas . Sometimes showing the identical symptoms of Chalara.

  14. we had 1 to 2 chainsaw operators for the big stuf. the rest was clear with the 360s. I like the idea of a skip for burning on smaller sites, but the amount that we had to burn we would have needed 50 skips
  15. I agree it qualifies you to carry out an activity safely, it does not give you a qualification in knowledge in trees. for example if you pass your tractor and combine ticket, does it qualify you as a farmer.

  18. Hazell, hawthorn, ash and field maple. still got a bit of large Ash to fell. on one bit. just to wet to get on at the mo. Are you after any hazell ?
  19. Walk over pick up the worst by hand . Then the first mowing is done with a flail. cleared 1.5 hectares at the beginning of 2012 and this section is just under 6 hectares.
