  1. A couple on months back I was browsing for info about rust removal products. I came across a recipe for molasses diluted with water at 10%. It works by chelation. It will not work on paint or oily greasy surfaces. Simply mix solution in plastic container. Immerse rusty part for 2 weeks then rinse off with water and scrub with nylon brush. Then put it back in as needed. Repeat as needed. I put this in ten days ago. I couldn't get it all in the tub hence the line. The next thing is waiting for better weather to blow torch dry and paint.[first picture is after removal from tub before rub and rinse ATTACH]176864[/ATTACH] then after scrub and rinse.
  2. Complicated only agri tax class if used for agriculture. It's what some get away with. But unless it's proper forestry work it's a minefield. Try searching this forum with the search facility. It has been covered a lot. Many seem to of got rid of their unimog a as well. A good bit of kit if you have profitable work for it. Otherwise expensive to keep.
  3. In New Zealand they bin our breakaway cable, off imported uk made gear and replace with a chain.
  4. Was this in the early days if the fave girls thread. Another one to blame dean lofthouse for.
  5. Chevy chase & Steve Martin. Our French teacher made us watch it as an end if term treat! Was the other dan ackroyd? If so I have been storing pointless info in my head since 1987
  6. Yes probably true. It took2 hrs of queuing to get the blasted car. We are thinking of not paying the traffic fine. Only recently we binned the rental paperwork.( how long do you have to keep all this clutter ?) I know if you do a traffic violation in nz then don't pay it goes on your record then if you re enter the country within five years they may get you deported etc. But ive no plan to ever go back to Italy so no skin off my nose. Thanks for all the replies, the issue for me is how long it's taken. Here if you don't get a penalty notice sharpish, it's automatically void. That was the angle I was after.
  7. I went to castle Howard over ten years ago. They had botanical labels then. The nearest after that is the royal botanical gardens of Edinburgh scattered at benmore, dawyck at Peebles and Logan. In the later spring whisk the mrs off on a romantic non work related weekend.
  8. My indespension is resistant to reversing with the auto mechanism. So Ive made a wedge to go in the slot to hold the sliding tube fixed in the forward position. Then take it out when finished reversing. Trailers used to have a flip in and out cam for this. But I assume too many were left in and they got removed for safety reasons.
  9. After being cautious and adding on extra marks for dents etc to the form before we set off, I later noticed one of the rotational tyres was mounted best to drive in reverse, I did point it out when we returned the FIAT 500L ( we had reserved a fiesta, but got the "upgrade" due to demand) Whilst we havn't heard from the police yet the rental company have sent a photocopy of Italian document with Police, transit and other words. The rental company have sent their bit in english. It was a naff holiday, the country is corrupted and they want to sting the wallet as often as possible. The best example was the cablecar to the top of mt Etna. In the ticket office was the price, I can't remember how much but not cheap. However a woman saw my wife looking and said don't bother it only goes half way to another ticket office, which you pay the same again to get to the top. Naples Museum was half shut on Sunday which was the most recommended day to go as more volunteer staff available. This incident is only in keeping with my expectations of the holiday.
  10. But Jon you have had us going round in circles on this thread you started:banghead:
  11. On the 15th of September whilst on holiday in Italy we drove through Tropea It was hot and we where looking for the beach, which we never found, the signs in this area where very poor and even with sat nav we struggled to get out of the place. Almost 4 months later on Friday the 13th February the rental car company send us an invoice for money they have taken off our credit card £42.50 for adminstration fee for giving the italian police our address. Its in Italian so I dont understand it. I think its saying we drove through a pedestrian zone or restricted area. I dont remember seeing a police officer or car. But what is strange when we did see police officers they ignored every lawbreaking motoring incident and simply sped pass speeders. Anyway Im not chucking toys out the pram etc. But can they shuffle paperwork about for this long after the event? In the UK they have to do it in a short timeframe. And top tip to slow this down even more, change credit cards after each holiday. The car rental company wouldn't of been able to withdraw
  12. Im not offended, if anything I will look into Odysey another time. Yuasa however dont like vibration. A place I work at has gobbled through these in under three months on treelifting machines which vibrate blades through the soil. Different applications to different batteries. Im suprised at the optima failures compared to my experience.
  13. The case tractor has a 56Ah battery it never has failed even in cold weather. Its supposed to have a 120Ah battery. Same again with my van it is supposed to have a 80Ah battery but I run it on a 38Ah They are more expensive but they last the life of 2 batteries at least in my experience. The only negative is the sizes are different, they tend to be taller, so make sure they fit the space you have. You can put 2 batteries on in parallel or series. One way gives 12V the other 24V
  14. Jon. If you are going long term optima is the answer. It will save money in long run. Mine has done 15 years on a case 4230 tractor. I dont buy anything else now.
  15. Its ironic that those who blow things up for a professional means of living need "civvy street" boys to come in. Instead why not, practise battlefield for half a day, cuts costs and paperwork or failing that, let TOP GEAR come for a play. Sorry for the derail, but the MOD have every toy Stevie Blair dreams of playing with parked up somwhere:thumbup:
  16. The mentalist is the first thing in a long time were i cannot predict the outcome alot of the time, Its brilliant with an unconventional lead character. Its a Crime drama for those who dont know what it is.
  17. Probably a few bits missing oil leaks and temperamental at that price.
  18. Video removed!
  19. You can get a greasing tool where you his it with a hammer and it blasts the nipple back into use. This is first one that came up in google. Ive never used one.Grease Fitting Unblocker
  20. I have never done the pm sent thing, but I would in case the person Im PM-ing may not realise they have a pm. There is the option of send an email as well, which I tend to forget. I know dyslexic people and others with spelling problems which actually makes funny reading because they actually spell it better phonetically than the rest of us who do as we are told and follow what everybody else does because thats how it is. So I assume people on here may have a difficulty spelling. Sumtyms if im tiyerd I carnt b boverd ti spel evr.
  21. Depends on your work. Do you use digger a lot? If so buy auger if you don't use it sell it.

    trailers

That would be novel. A good idea and a new type of kit in review section.
  24. Open shop later is only good for locals. What abouts either a knock and wait or a contact first for an appointment. Then the elves can be busy to the maximum. Then deal with customer, rather than having someone hovering around just in case. If it takes off then have dedicated sales personnel.
