the instructors and assessors at Myerscough are great just make sure your saw is razor sharp especially when you go out felling makes life so much easier, and remember to read up on all the health and safety stuff as well and you'll do fine.

I Passed my felling assessment earlier in the week, and have done all of my assignments for the term too

set it to 'Macro' mode, it will be a small picture of a flower on the settings wheel, this is the setting for taking close up photos on most cameras

Had my Clark cut and climb one for a while now and its excellent certainly reccomend it.

Here's some of the photos I took at Woodfest Wales this saturday, It was a great show and I had a really good day when I managed to find the place after half an hour of country lanes with no signs. thanks to all the exhibitors and competitors in the pole climbing and the axe men competitions for providing an excellent days entertainment, also special thanks to Nod and the team at Treeworker it was nice to have a chat with everyone and come away with some new rope and friction cord which I couldn't be more happy with. hope these work, it's my first time uploading photos to arbtalk. heres a link to the album just incase the photos don't work Pictures by samarb1 - Photobucket hope you like them, Sam.

old chains do make a lovely pattern when melted down into knife blades, similar effect of damascus steel, where the steel is folded repetedly by the knife maker to improve the quality of the steel. you may find a few people on here that may be able to put your old chains to good use: BritishBlades - Home some very skilled knife makers on there

Honey Brothers sell a 'pulleysaver' that uses a DMM pinto pulley, it's a bit like an ART ropeguide but slightly cheaper, its on their homepage and it says they are available at the end of February, looks quite nice , pulleys take a load of the friction away too, well worth using one on a big climb

I've got the HTC Wildfire and I love it, does everything i need and the camera is pretty good as well. the touch screen can be a little annoying at times when you are texting as the 'keys' are so small its hard to hit one at a time, other than that its a great phone, worth the money, but the better 'desire' has a much better screen in comparison the wildfire can be a little fuzzy when viewing pictures if you dont zoom in enough.

looks great! when I make it I use the box that came with a Wii bike (about 3 ft tall and 1ft wide) with loads of 1" holes in it and a small heated fan at the bottom and then hang the meat about 2/3rd's way up the box on bent paper clips then leave it to dry for a day or two (thickness pending) tastes great usually, worth noting that a wet marinaded meat takes way longer to dry this way than a dry-rub type marinade.

I got a shiny new silky gomtaro pro, saw pod (in the new orange colour) a copy of the tree climbers companion and the usual chocs, socks and shower gel. As well as a super warm craghoppers jumper Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I just bought a box of these today:[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Contour-Avenger-Specialist-Precision-Gloves/dp/B003DBSURS]5 x Pairs of Contour Avenger Specialist Precision Work Gloves Size: S/M: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools[/ame] they're really grippy and seem to be a little more sturdy than most cheap gloves, they sell for £14.08 in costco for a box of 10, I'll let you know how they get on after climbing tomorrow.
