  12. billy can you not see wot rupe is gtting at if your not using (both ends of your rope, mainline and side strop or two mainlines) then how are you attaching your self when you are advancing up the tree because using only one line would mean that you are unattached while throwing your rope over the next branch. i know u said you like to free climb so are fruit trees a speciality of yours?
  13. thinking about it i read it in the aa mag. yeah does make you think every1 in the company was made to read it and take note, too late to change once its happened and it can happen so quickly and easily. let it be a lesson to us all
  14. if it is the article that i think you are on about it is about a tree surgeon writing about his experiance of cutting and holding, he was cutting with the saw between his arm and the branch when he slipped and cut into his forearm. He then went on to describe the long process of recovery and how he still hasnt recovered full use of his arm/hand due to nerve damage. may of got the wrong article got shown it by the boss of one of the companies i subbie for, worth a read if you can get hold of a copy
  15. yeah they all work apart from the yellow lab who is my girlfriends pet from b4 we met. was a gamekeeper b4 i left to come back to tree work, hence the amount of dogs
  16. here is my rabble...
  17. didnt say that you were a bad shot but i know alot of keepers in every part of the uk some of whom are on some of the largest shooting estates in the country and been doing it a very long time, and i know of not one that will say that they have never missed a fox or have inhavertaly mained one. also know and seen a very compaintant target shooter miss a fox at 150 yards at night, you will miss at some pointin your life. i WAS a single handed keeper on a 2000 acre shoot, shooting 37 days a season reared everything from dayolds (27K) but left to go back to tree work. just to let you know i shoot .22LR, .223, 6.5x55 and 8 shot 12bore SA good to know that you are doing things the right way too many people out there that "have all the gear and no idea" keep up the good work and shooting straight.
  18. hi john when are Croome Hunt meeting? just moved to evesham and was wondering who and when was the nearest hunt? just too add to the rant i was a full time single handed keeper, seen and used every method of fox control at my disposal. would say that hunting was\is the most ethical the fox is either killed or gets away no middle ground, not getting involved with what goes on behind closed doors but the actual final act is the fairest to the fox. terriers are good in some situations litter of cubs. i opt for lamping with a centre fire rifle but anyone who says that they have never missed a fox is only kidding them self or not shot many! yes can shoot a lot in one night, been out with a very good friend who is also a keeper and shot 11 in one night. however they can still be hit and runoff only to die a slow painful death, always try for a clean shot but sometimes it doesn’t always happen. this topic could just go on and on Merry Christmas everyone
  19. use graphite powder you will find that wd40 will just attract more dirt!

  24. good man just started doin logs this year too, also in glos! i have a very good idea about size and price that every1 in our area is charging and you will find that people will try and push you for some more if they know that you are new to it. had 3 people like that so far they got told that i am not a charity, if they arent happy with the size/quality then i will happily load it back on to the truck and sell it to someone else not a problem for me. had repeat custom off all 3!
  25. Please someone buy it, will mean that i will never have to use it lol. Then all you have to do is try and sell your electric hedge trimmers and we will be sorted
