  1. I had my CS39 assessment today, it was snowing all day and flippin' freezing. Glad I passed, now hopefully I can earn some money whilst freezing my pistachios off!
  2. Thanks all. Feels great, 39 to go on Thursday. Did the branch walks on a big horse chestnut, it was snowing whilst I was doing this. It was actually quite nice climbing in the snow, I know that sounds weird.
  3. Buzzsurgeon, that looked very awesome indeed!
  4. Cheers buddy!
  5. Sned that Twig!
  6. Just got back from passing my CS38, good times!
  7. Same in south Suffolk. Sunny and freezing my cashews off!
  8. Those are some awesome trees. Just thought I'd say that.
  9. Well said.
  10. Sorry to hear that mate. I think your rate sounded fair. I've had problems in the past trying to give a fair price yet still earn a living. Times are hard.
  11. The first chainsaw was invented by Andreas Stihl in 1926, but the first ever chainsaw that could be operated by a single person was developed in 1950. Good ol' Stihl.
  12. PM sent
  13. Have you tried the SealSkinz ultra grip gloves? They'd keep your hands dry but not sure about the grip. I use the Towa powergrab thermo ones, keep my hands toasty but the grip goes downhill when wet.
  14. I will Andy.
  15. Hi Andy. I'm based in Ipswich, but have full clean license and will travel.
  16. I'm doing my CS38 training now, and we have to either do a 2-man or a 3-man pole rescue. For the 3 man, we are using a whoopie sling and a figure 8 device with a friction hitch failsafe.
  17. Hi everyone. Thought I'd put the feelers out early. I'm on a 10 week tree surgery course at Otley, will be finishing in December. Recently passed CS30 + 31, and hopefully will add 38 + 39 to that in a few weeks. Also have First aid cert. If anyone wants a helping hand at weekends with their work, I'm a hard grafter and need some real experience in arb. At present I have all my own PPE, but no saws or equipment. I will be planning to purchase these when I can/when the missus lets me! Many thanks Neil
  18. I had fun slipping and sliding all over a horse chestnut, was a bit windy too... wasn't getting paid though!
  19. Thanks to all. Am loving the climbing training, hard work on the forearms, and the limb walking was a bit iffy in the wet today!
  20. Cheers matey.
  21. Hi guys n gals. Sorry, hate blowing my own trumpet, but just pleased as punch that I passed my CS31 today. 2 down, 2 to go. Lovin it!
  22. RHS Pruning & Training by C Bricknell and D Joyce
  23. Cheers Max. I know that on some courses they've done them all on one day, but for some reason, me and me course buddies are all on Friday.
  24. Just an update. Passed CS30 today. 1 down, 3 to go!
