  1. yeah he said he threw it in a bucket of boiling water and it didnt move! so its had a brand new thermostat! Does it take a long time to overheat if its the head gasket?
  2. I know what your saying a good freelance climber maybe deserves more than£100 a day but it then gets difficult to win work and make a profit when there are so many idiots out there willing to work for cost!!!
  3. haha too true so frustrating!!
  4. yeah ill speak to the mechanic tommorow and suggest these to him!! hopefully he will check these simple things before dismantling the head!!
  5. it wasnt before so thats what we thought but it overheated the last time!! im just hoping for no cracks!!
  6. Like alot of you are saying alot depends on where you are based, if i get a climber in for a day to help me i pay £100 day rate with his own climbing kit and top handle, or a groundie who just turns up with his own ppe and his lunch lol about £80 a day! im based around harrogate area!! There is alot of good climbers willing to work for this in my area any more and i think its difficult to win jobs!!
  7. not sure as its parked up at the garage over the easter weekend, but i think there is quite a bit of resistance but cant quote on it, whats the viscous fan unit?
  8. I recently had some overheating problems with my ford ranger 05 thunder, it started to overheat so i immediatly sent it to the garage and after spending alot of time taking the water pump to bits and realised it was fine he found that it was the thermostat that was broken so a new one on and he said was all fine!!! a week down the line the temp gauge started flutuating up and down but not stopping at hot, i checked the water it needed some but not alot and this didnt change anything the next morn on way to work the temp went straight to hot pritty soon and stopped there so again straight to garage and now he thinks head gasket. But no visible water in the oil and the engine sounds fine when running i cant help think its something else or am i just hoping for too much??

  13. haha yeah my mistake left it in, yeah ours came off acprice imported from a council in germany just before we got it!! a c price is your man and i could be wrong about the model the plate came off the front grill along time ago! id say avoid atkinson vos ive heard alot of bad stuff about them e.g. rusty run down mogs with superb spray jobs!!
  14. we have one at work U1250, brilliant machines, to not cheap to keep servicing repairs etc i dont know too much but there is a few schemes where you pay a yearly fee and you get all your servicing done, i think this would be a good thing, i can honestly say that the mog at work has been very good, it cost alot to repair the 4 wheel drive once because it was taken out of 4x4 while flying up the road, avoid at all costs 7000+ to repair, we run a 12" farmi and runs it very well!
  15. these sort of people put such a negative look on the industry, hate it when people just think i can cut your tree for a few pound notes, which makes it hard for us professionals to win jobs, pricing to do it it safely and properly!!
  16. Stop using it!!
  17. no its a good genuine bar i have recieved it through post!!b so time to give it some work!!

  21. haha money brothers!! i like it!!! frjones are the best suplier out there by far!
  22. we have a a 201 at work as is the first one replaced, then we have several 200s, we have had this around 5 months and gave it lots of hammer, as they gat this at our spot and allready were hyaving to sort out the carb!! top handled saws will always have carb trouble as i can see it!!
  23. Now then rob do you sell bars?
