Aphid produce a sugary liquid called "honey dew" Which then can lead to "Black sotty mold". growing on the tree, this doesn't hurt the tree directly but if it covers the leaf it can reduce Photosynthesis then weakening the tree, if then another pathogen moves in the tree might die.. Black sotty mold can be washed off with a jet of water. If i was worried about having an aphid problem i would plant some Dill, Fennel or buckwheat near the Beech hedge which will attract Ladybirds which will eat the aphid.. Problem solved

  15. Since my last post about the helmet Nigel from fletcherstewart Has contacted me and we will be in contact in the new year when i return to the UK to see if the damage to my helmet can recifide. I do hope the Stein Pasma helmet with the upgraded inner lining stands up better than the Stein Work helmet as i do like them. Only time will tell!!
  16. Has anyone had problems with the plastic inner lining falling to bits?? I know 2 other climbers this has happened to. Seem like an expensive helmet, cheaply made. Abbeypro told me i was the 1st to complain about this. Am i, Really???

  19. Heineken is great for all other trees e.g chipping dead elms, My personal opinion is Stella is a far superior Plane dust remover Heineken is also a great aftershave! I like to spash it on in the morning,, it makes me feel like a man!!
