  2. A massive thank you for all your contributions! I have a lesson with the lecturer tomorrow so Ive just printed off this thread and tonight Im going to highlight all positive and negative points. After reading the whole post I have learnt a lot about reductions which I never new and will look at them in a whole new light in the future! thanks for all your help. cheers ciaran glyde
  3. A big thanks to everyone thats posted, its helped me out alot. cheers ciaran glyde
  4. its not for a assignment, its for a debate I brought on myself!!! cheers ciaran glyde
  5. Sounds like a simple question, but in my third week of my uni course my tutor was slagging off every type of reduction and I disagreed, then he asked my then what situation would benefit from a reduction? (to cut a long story short with my two and a bit years experience of arboriculture I went blank!) So I told him I would get back to him on wednesday with some answers! help!!! from what Ive seen on here hama's reduction thread shows some amazing reductions and you seem like a expert so I would love your and everyones opinion! cheers ciaran glyde
  6. yeah not to bad thanks! havent ate at the canteen once yet! living on pasta salads! haven't seen you about yet mate, what days are you in like? cheers ciaran glyde
  7. hi guys, basically Im now topping up my diploma to a foundation degree at askham bryan, been working as a groundy and doing some climbing for tree tech in bournmouth. Im busy when im not at college with my ebay business but if any one in the area needs a extra pair of hands every so often feel free to pm me or call on 07952583242. not wanting much money atall, happy with just enough to cover my food costs for the day (I eat alot!) got my 30,31,38 and will have my 39 some time soon... got my professional tree inspection so if you need a hand you know who to call! cheers ciaran glyde
  8. you do if you remove it under dead dying and dangerous, which is what they are referring to. cheers ciaran glyde
  9. yeah that is a tricky one! In my view this might sound weird but could it not be classified as dangerous as what has already happened, dosent mean every yew tree is dangerous obviously but due to the location and what has already happened, I would think this could be a way to do it? hope you find a solution. cheers ciaran glyde
  10. hi, probably the level 3 diploma or level 4/5 foundation degree is for you , I know kirkley hall does the diploma and I think are starting the foundation degree again next year, and I personally wouldn't recommend the arboriculture department there. (pm me if you want to know why.) theres houffle (of however you spell it!) but im not sure if they do the foundation degree. I did me diploma at kirkly and have moved to askham bryan (york area) where you can either do it full time in 2 years 3 days a week or part time in 3 years 1 day a week, Ive only been here for a couple of weeks so far but would highly recommend how professional the college is and how modern the facilities are. sorry its a mouthful! hope this helps! cheers ciaran glyde
  11. yeah, well It was very repetitive with all of the house holds with basically the same problems. on the other hand, I think they put arborists in good light by showing that we arent "men with ladders." didnt think much of the first company with the climber up the hedge free climbing without a helmet etc, and thought one of the quotes was a bit steep, but the company based in barry seemed top notch! cheers ciaran glyde
  12. hi, if your computer is useally on when you want to print from your ipad, you can stick with the printer you have and download "printer 2 go" its about £5, works a dream and there customer service is second to none. cheers ciaran glyde

  18. is this full time? or just for a one off, how much experience do you want? I know a couple of females around here with there 30 and 31 if you want me to pass your post onto them? if not im sure I can find a nice wig for me! cheers ciaran glyde

  24. hi guys- bit of a different one! been watching million pound drop this saturday night<--- dont judge me! on the boots advert where some guy climbs a london plane to get a leaf, it looked like there was a pig ganoderma bracket growing in a buttress of the plane! is that roadside tree safe!?! also have you seen any other music videos/adverts with interesting trees in? the only one I can think of is the ribina advert but thats animated. cheers ciaran glyde
