  1. At least he had the sense to take his wellies off....just in case
  2. Thought these might be of interest for several reasons!
  3. A bargain at that price, I will put my name down for one (think you could charge more for it though) The pdf idea is a good one, still charge a little Tony as im sure its going to cost you for the program. BTW love your photos on the ATF website!
  4. Drainage is good, there is some shading from large Oak trees. Thanks for the suggestions, will read up on them and hopefully find out what it is. Phyllosticta looks interesting! Thanks again
  5. Thanks Infinitree, not sure if it is. Tissue not soft and water soaked and no blackening of leaf petiole. Im flummoxed at the mo!
  6. Hi Guys Any ideas on what this is would be great. There are 3 Rhododendrons in a row. One healthy, next poorly(this one), last on v dead! Cheers
  7. Well negotiated Sam, where in Somerset do you think it could be held if you get 20 people. I will put my name down if not too far away from me. Cheers Nick
  8. Fantastic work and photos. Especially like the jeep. When i was in Chitwan in 2007 we borrowed an old russian jeep from WW2 that drove like a boat, no steering rack to speak of. Admiral work Steve. Very impressive. Im in awe. Where on earth will the next project be?
  9. Hi Yaffle Sorry to hear that, its so annoying when you have a passion to do something and it isnt panning out right. I think if you can get other people interested, Tree Life will run a course near you. It might be worth calling them just to see if anyone else in the area has expressed an interest. Might be a long shot but it might just be possible. Good luck yaffle. Cheers Nick
  10. Hi Yaffle That was my concern initially, Im going to be travelling up from N Devon about 2.5hrs each way. But i think it will be worth it! Good luck Nick
  11. Thanks Steve and Bundle. Steve I would like to take a look at those past papers if I may? Cheers Nick
  12. Hi David Yes I have signed up and paid my deposit (so no going back now!) Yes you are right, I think the content has been qualified but there is fine tuning to be done on the assessment and examination side. I felt it was time to commit myself to a formal qualification and had heard so many good things said about Tree Life, I knew it would be right for me. It wasnt a decision I took lightly, ive been procrastinating for two years now! Thanks for the encouragement. Nick
  13. Cheers Paul, Thanks for the thumbs up. I know its going to be a challenge studying and running my own business at the same time but im looking forward to it. I hope to meet some fellow arbtalkers on the course too. Nick
  14. Hi Guys Im going to Westonbirt to study towards the level 4 Diploma in arboriculture with Tree Life in October 2011. Any one else going? Cheers Nick
  15. Right on Silverback, well said, if youve been working on conifers all day you have the right to vent your spleen:001_smile:
  16. So High Scale, forgetting the cost, did you learn anything worthwhile or did you think it was a waste of time? Cheers Nick
  17. Hi Guys BCT and AA have a Arb and Bats course running at FSC Nettlecombe, Somerset on 20th June 2011. I tried to go last year but the day was cancelled due to a lack of people. I asked Dave Sutton what the cut off was on the course and he said 10 people, so far they have 4. If any one is interested heres the link to the course details Arboriculture and Bats - Bat Conservation Trust Hope to see you there. Cheers Nick
  18. Thanks Hama Thats sort of what I thought, shortcutting lengthy paperwork exercises. Here in Devon Chas seems to be one of the more favoured endorsements with LA's. Apart from the paperwork point of view, do you think its opened up more opportunities for you?
  19. Hi Guys Any views on the merits of being audited and approved by these guys. have you secured more work through it/because of it? Cheers Nick
  20. It looks teriffic in that last photo, awsome work, hats off to all concerned!
  21. I agree Steve, but it doesnt sound like that does it, we need to know more about the circumstances before deportation:biggrin:
  22. Hi j_s. If hes got a degree in landscape architecture, he can call himself a landscape architect without being MLI. That just enables him to put chartered in front. By the sound of it methinks you know he hasnt any formal qualification in landscape architecture? If thats the case he is a blagger and should be shot or deported
  23. Thanks woodplans, that sounds the right way forward, im sure between us we can get it fixed a bit cheaper than the garage. Cheers
