    Well its official i spent over 25 quid on food n nobody arrived. I hope i have a anger releaving job on monday or else i may let rip at a colleague which i don't want to do.

    I was having a bbq tonight and invited my younger work colleagues. I sent them text messages last week giving them plenty of chance to respond. 6 out of 8 could make it but none turned up. Just spent 25 quid on food for myself and sis. Needless to say i am pretty peeved with them now especially when they didnt even send me a text to say sorry i can't come tonight. I have one who said she would be later coming which is fine so hopefully the night isnt lost. Just shows who my true friends are.

    We have just spent the last two days replacing a set of steps and hand rail on a very steep slope. It was full of sand stone hence why the pegs are on wierd angles and the hand rail is bent.

    We found out the cause of "phut", poor running, decomp button not coming out when it should. We have a cracked piston. Its going to cost us 40 quid for he piston but they have replaced everything esle on the engine to try and find the cause. Aparentli it started with 120psi at full stroke but soon started to drop when the crack opened up. Going to be about 200 quid all in.

    Bootlaces don't need to be there to cause damage nor do the mycelial sheets. It may be in the roots causing havoc before it makes its way the up the stem looking for food. Most trees are affected by honey fungus if they have been hacked hard then have a few dry years so they can't recover.

    Honey fungus is playing the cards now. Before too long it will be Alder Bracket (Inonotus radiatus) calling the shots.

    Defo coprinus but looks like honey fungus is at play too. The coprinus has just hitched a lift.

    I know is sounds really strange but what about in a washing machine in a net bag on a 40 synthetic wash. I did it with a few mesh filters and it got them looking really clean and de-greased them at the same time.

    Time to bump this thread i think. Some species i have found on the hangings part of Milldown. 1-2 - Wild Mignonette 3-6 - Eyebright - Semi-parasitic on finer grasses. Used as an medieval eye anti-septic to treat conjunctivitus. 7-10 - Lesser Trefoil 11-14 - Unknown species as of yet. If anyone has a clue as to what this is it would be of great help.

    1-3 - Coprinus sp clumps with Arachnids to keep them company 4-6 -Trooping Crumble cap army marching on. 7-14 - Unknown macro fungi growing on 6 month old woodchip.

    First two look like Deer damage with maybe Rabbit or Badger damage at the very base. Bottom pic is definately canker.

    Some Dead Mans Fingers shots taken this afternoon whilst out with my mutts. And a couple of unknown mini fung. Pink one is growing on an old half round rail and the white/cream one is on a snapped ash limb.

    Currently got a very sick FS450. No matter which way we store it (level, hanging from engine or from cutting head with engine supported) it leaks fuel direct through the carb into the engine and then into the exhaust. One of my colleagues started it yesterday with about 1/4 tank of fuel in the exhaust which caused a fuel spill in a gravel car park. Today we went to start and because the decompression button is being a PITA we start it with it without pushing it in. Today somehting went "phut" around it and it has been running very very rough all day. Hence why it has gone in for some work. Since we've had it (2 years) it has had 14 tommy screws, 2 handle clamps, new throttle cable, 4 new air filters, 1 fuel filter, new flywheel after the old one snapped a fin (don't ask how) and a new gearbox. Most councils would have thrown it out but we have kept at it.
