  1. Firewood processing unit hire - Chopsticks Firewood ?
  2. Me & Boxer plus pallet forks (no grapple I'm afraid) will be no problem. Just drop me a PM when you know whats going on etc.
  3. Dont know bugger all about taking tree's down but would gladly lend a pair of hands and our mini skidsteer loader (Boxer) if it would be of any use...??
  4. I'm not 100% sure what the brackets are like on Avants. If not it shouldnt be too difficuly to get them made to fit. Let me know when the kanga is up for sale....
  5. Any chance of a full spec for your set up and rough costs?? I've often thought about switching to air but have never really took it any further than random browsing. What range of nail sizes will they accomodate?
  6. Ours in not strictly "in treework" but in the attached picture it is in the trees..(just to keep you Arb guys happy) Our Boxer is the diesel version, fitted here with front mounted post knocker. REF Peter- if you ever fancy having a close look at on of the Boxers just drop me a PM as we are only a few miles apart
  7. Hi Tim, Sounds like the posts have been put in on spurs from the outset- not that uncommon. I assume you have two bolts going through the wooden post and out via the concrete post? Or have they been put in with coach screws? Anyhow, whats the problem? Or is it that you think the spurs and wooden posts not in the ground is weaker than normal?
  8. Tornado Wire HT 13/190/15 Straining posts of 3m length and 175-200mm diameter Box strainers Intermediates of 2.7m and 75-100mm and every 4m All timber with 15 year in serivce guarantee Just quoted to the above spec for a job and it was £14/m +VAT supplied and installed.
  9. We do a bit of fencing...........but we dont do any tree work
  10. No guards/canes required in this instance
  11. Cheers for sharing guys. We are looking at approx 200m to go inside a newly installed fence; no need for compost as soil is very good. I would have thought we would be slit planting (no holes) and healing in as plant will be 40-60cm bare root.
  12. Just wondered if I could pick the collective brains on a likely rate for hedge planting. I can get the materials cost no bother but wondered what installation rates/charges were and how much they should be getting in per day etc. The hedge is to be bare root hornbeam, planting through jute membrane. Plants to be a double row stagger with 35cm between plants and 45cm between rows Anyone care to share their wisdom?
  13. Dont know much about tree work but I bloomin loved that video- great editing and theme tune.
  14. I'm afraid I'll have to agree with that- got given one as a present and had high hopes. With just hot water alone is just about passable at lunch time; whereas the Stanley is still piping at 4PM
  15. So at the moment it looks like the trusty Stanley flasks will be out again Just nice to be able to have some piping hot water though.....hmm
  16. We used to use a meths type thing but Im sure I could taste it in me slop! You cant beat warm food on either a sh$£ty job or in sh$£ty weather...
  17. That looks a piece of kit Would be great around the yard, but not too sure about lugging it around every day.
  18. In preparation for the upcoming months I interested to hear what everyone is using (or would like to use) for making a warm brew/soup etc?? I know its horses for courses, but heard good things about the JetBoil but not sure if I want a system that relies on me having the fuel with it? But then the Kelly Kettle looks a bit cumbersome and I can see the tea breaks getting longer and longer as we stoke it up... So, what is everyone using? Or shall I stick to the flasks?
  19. Concrte gravel boards come in all shapes and sizes look here for example for stuff from a leading supplier - Supreme Concrete However, as stated above if you are set on putting in panels then gravel boards for slotted posts will be 1.83m (UK spec) and thats your lot!
  20. Why not do 2.4m close board bays set on concrete posts with concrete gravel boards? You will need concrete recessed posts obviously Or has the client specificlly requested panels?
  21. Domestic gardens, to the spec you have quoted (1.8m high, 15cm wooden gravel board, 2.4m centres, 3 rails) = £35 - £40/m depending on levels/access. Site work to the above (assuming decent meters) = £30- £32/m All prices inc vat
  22. Going to have a go at this........... soon Must admit that last night, before I made a plonker of myself, I got down and did a one "set to failure" run. If I couldnt get above 35 I wasnt going to try this challenge Now I just need a day to get over the soreness:thumbup:
  23. In that case consider the case closed, as the Dragons would say...."I'm out".
  24. Hi, If anybody wants a referral for approx 25 conifer stumps to grind out in the Kings Lynn area could they PM me? Largest is about 150mm acrosss. More than happy to field questions. Regards,
