  1. Will do. [ Wrists slapped ]
  2. Just wondering if anybody had a couple of pictures of wood stacks, chopped logs, wood burners etc etc that they could provide to me for use on a website? These would need to be taken by your own fair hand as I dont fancy any Copyright issues..!! Will gladly, and obviosuly, acknowledge the provide of the images once the site is up and running.
  3. Oooh I bet them posts are going to look a treat. I think I would have called it a day if that was how it was going
  4. Not that it matters, but its actually "chromated copper arsenate"
  5. You shouldnt be too far out with the prices mentioned here I reckon. Cambridgeshire isnt exactly renknown for its stock farming but we charge anywhere between £4 and £6/m supplied and installed depending on length of run, changes in direction, slopes, access etc etc.
  6. Just thought I'd ask here as there may be a supplier on here, or one you know of.. Looking for ca 35m of cleft oak post and three rail. If anyone here supplies it, or can recommend someone, please let me know. Cheers
  7. Very common mate I'm afraid. Some people do it for gain i.e hidden links, redirects, use your site to host/share illegal stuff whilst others do it for fun (just cos they can). Hopefully your host has a decent back-up for you and you can revert to a clean one ASAP. One thing I would check though is to find out how the hack occurred. I suspect it will be virtually impossible to track the culprit...difficult enough to get stolen plant back, imagine what its like trying to catch a cyber-nerd.!!
  8. New Shoguns (LWB variety) are defo 3.5 ton; SWB are 3 ton.
  9. Maybe he has a sideline in kindling:biggrin: However, unless we are missing something I agree that a 30m overage is a little keen
  10. He needs 240m because he is going to be using 3 rails per bay of fence (i.e. 70m x 3; plus a little bit over for cleats etc) Are you fixing straight onto the face of the posts? Our standard size is 87mm x 38 mm
  11. Just seen this news story in the local paper.... Cambridge News | Latest News From In & Around Cambridge City | Latest Sports, Jobs & Business News in Cambridge Newspaper | Hunt for chainsaw gang who felled Cambridge tree Bizarre.
  12. I suspect it would be useful- once you've got materials costs set up I can see how this would be handy for estimating. We currently use a Excel spreadsheet for this purpose.
  13. Well this sort of topic is more up my street as we are fencing contractors.. Some interesting prices been mentioned here. Close board fencing for us comes in at about £35 - £40/m supplied and installed (1.8m height). Stock fencing at £20/m, wow, we can hardly get above £7/m all in. The steel palisade figure quoted looks about right as its roughly ££40 - £60/m. As with all these things though there are so many variables to consider with pricing- I doubt many of you guys would quote a figure for a tree crowning or full removal without actually seeing the site..
  14. I'd go with the advice above. We remove hundreds of old fence posts most weeks and cant really do much with them. If they have been pressure treated or tanalised they become fairly redundant as far as firewood in my opinion. Once they start to burn they emit some rather potent chemicals- not great in a wood or multi-stove and not very good at all on an open fire.... Some poeple I know just say get on with it and burn them, but not for me..
