Quick and all seems a-ok just like tapatalk. One tiiiiny detail: Arbtalk spelled atbtalk in android market description, not that it really matters. Over to add rating now... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App edit: have to join Google+ to leave a review. What's that then?!
  10. Looks like a distinct possibility. Welcome to Arbtalk
  11. first could be a Coprinus, second is chicken of the woods, good eating while young if it fruits again. (Just be sure before eating any fungi! There, that's me covered!)
  12. 4th pic is fantastic, as are the roots on the last ones anh idea as to cause?

    Lime trees

    Ditto!
  14. It was very silly to leave it so long, then I had to wait for registration id to come through the post. Oh well, lesson learnt!
  15. lovely stuff ta, why didn't I do this sooner?!
  16. After a little last minute advice please! Do profit loss accounts for SA tax returns need to be in a certain format? Is a hand written version ok? With regards travelling, obviously fuel is one concern, what about a wear and tear? Is there a guide amount you can put on the loss per mile travelled? Cheers all...
  17. My very hazardous guess would be 100, give or take 15 or so. Very difficult to judge based on a pic, can I ask why you ask?
  18. could we leave some for habitat?
  19. Not taken negatively at all: I thought it would probably be A.l due to host, location and its apearance in the photo. I've seen it plenty of times without the strip canker. Agreed it rarely spreads around the stem very far, however, I believe it can be saprobic on portions which have died through other means. Drought or waterlogged soil perhaps? Also I can't think of any other fungi which have a taste for yew and take this form on the stem. So it is entirely presumption, and with just one photo to go on that would be my best guess. If you think it's unlikely do you have any other suggestions, I'd be interested in your thoughts...
  20. fixed
  21. last pic is of Amylostereum, probably laevigatum. Would explain the die back too...
  22. I got the impression from your post you were stirring at something. I obviously got the wrong end of the stick. Sorry
  23. Ah but I love trees and steer clear of politics, I don't even vote! I don't know what spin you're on about I don't know what you're getting at, but feel I should be at least mildly insulted. I don't wish to have a petty feud with someone online I've never met. If you have an issue with me spit it out in plain English and then lets move on.
  24. What about throwing into the mix that it may not be of fungal origin at all? Or could it be a malformed, parasitised P schweinitzii? Possibly Hypomyces aurantius: known to parasitise Ps... Or Laetiporous; frost damaged/parasitised/anamorphic/combination of. Probably not, just putting it out there for thoughts... Where's Gerritt when you need him!?
  25. By all means defend your position. You have some valid points! And he does sometimes bring it upon himself. However, and I am by no means singling you out, since his recent 'I'm leaving' episode he has in my eyes been picked on unfairly and often unjustly. It would be a shame for many if he really did leave. For the record, I don't think he has ever asked a 'big brother' to defend him. People just do. Some see his posts and replies in different lights, which is fine. Some question them, even better. Some can't resist personal comments or petty insults, picking on grammar etc. That I feel is unnecessary and embarrassing, as a forum visited by members of the public looking for friendly advice. Hey ho, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
